Yes, I went with 80lb injectors
Got some more work done recently. Only get about one day a week to fiddle with this between work/school/hanging out with my gramps. Excuse the cell phone pics… Stripped EVERYTHING out of the engine bay. prep prep prep :bang head: prime, color, color clear:
Got the rest of the fuel system mounted/routed. Here is a pic of the Jumange where the dual feeds come down from the tank and merge into the -8.
Feed/return/pump harness routed up to the front (pardon the grime)
Made a cover for the pump access hole. Sealed up with some clear rtv
Also got around to porting the throttle body. Started with a flapper wheel to knock the high spots down then finished with sand paper.

my gauges also came in finally. They are auto meter ES series. They light up red at night to match my stock gauges. I will have these mounted in the 2 remaining center vents next to my wideband
-cold side piping
-BOV
-bell housing ( :ham::ham::ham:)
-boost controller
-oil feed and drain lines
-turbo blanket + filter
- Rods/pistons/bearings/crank to be inserted into my empty lonely engine block
-decide on a camshaft
-Ls9 head gaskets/front/rear/oilpan etc gaskets
-lifters/timing chain/oil pump/pushrods
-new valve seals so i can reassemble my heads
-balancer
-most likely another $1000 in unexpected bullshit in addition , seems to be a reoccurring theme
Cool car for going in a straight line :gay3:

Haha just playing. That Precision looks sexxxy off that big ol’ motor
:snky:
Very nice!!
I must say I’m surprised!
Woot woot!
Sweet build, its looking good.
Old news, but Southbend/DXD FTW! I’ve run quite a few of them in Nissan Z’s.
Mocked up my “junk” block/heads/engine covers etc with the new K member to begin routing things…
Got my intercooler piping today and i am really impressed with how painless this is all things considered… In addition to this kit all i really need to do is:
- buy another 45* coupler for the last connection before the TB
- cut a 4" section off the end of the charge pipe @ the TB
- reducer coupling to fit the TB
- buy a wider angle “U” bend or cut and weld the one i have
I will let the pics talk:
This is the only thing that didn’t line up.
This is due to the fact that I placed the intercooler further foreword than most so that it is close to the front bumper opening like so
all in all GREAT fit for a “universal kit” thanks to Pat for the heads up!
Also ordered a McLeod shatter proof bell housing today and my speedINC gauge bezels arrived… Still waiting on my cam so Jay can install the cam/timing chain/oil pump then i can bring the motor home!
ok, back to work!
Nice progress! Front bumper…I assume that went bye bye?
what do ya mean?
Bumper, behind the bumper cover…for front end colisions. Looks like you’ll no longer have anything there for protection (I’m assuming).
Yeah that is gone. I don’t know of anyone that has kept that with a front mount setup.
Yeah the only thing you could have done is got the Burkhart piece but it wouldn’t have worked anyway because that intercooler is so big.
why did you go with that bellhousing over the quicktime?
This one was only $280 shipped
Oh, i have that old beat bell housing if you still want it.
thats a great deal.
I’ll take that customized spec one.
Hamburgler
Got some solid progress done. Cold side completed (mock up block):
Went with the Tial Q bov
Now on to big progress… Finally got my engine home from J&J’s
goodies waiting to go in
Cam, check.
Rollmaster Timing chain on after we pulled the stock timing gear off
Melling oil pump
I never knew that the front and rear covers contribute to block rigidity, special GM tools for the proper installation and alignment!
movin’ right along
Porcupine
Zed R-1 Headgaskets, LS7 lifters and LS2 lifter trays also installed
Oh yeaaaa
