X a million, i feel bad for the families/friends/victims involved and my prayers also go out to them but i am willing to bet as soon as everything is investigated they will bring up that we shouldn’t even have guns in the first place or some bullshit
My friend’s older sister was shot there today. The girl’s family lives on the next street down from me.
She is alive, got shot in the abdomen, but hit her head when she fell to the floor. She’s out of surgery, alive, and talking. Phew.
Now I have to wonder if I need to bring some sort of weapon with me to school next year to protect myself.
It’s sad that people have to actually start thinking about that

But on another note, the two years I lived in South Oakland when I was at Pitt, I had my dad’s 9mm hidden under my bed. We actually had a break in one night when I wasn’t home (the house next to us dealt drugs and they confused the houses) and my buddy “E” ran upstairs to my bedroom and got it and chased them out of the house. Luckily they only had knives.
About a month later, they did a big raid on the house next door and busted 3 or 4 guys with nearly a Kilo of heroin and over a Kilo of Cocaine.
Different situation, but it’s pretty bad that you have to think about your safety at a college campus now that something like this has happened at VT

ya thats fucked up that they sent a damn e-mail how long after the shooting did anyone see this e-mail to be warned that there was a shooting and to stay in there dorms or wat ever they was told
wen i went to wyotech in blairsville the teachers had phone/walkie-talkie things at all times to be notified about everything there was times that it would go off in the middle of class just to say that cops r lookin for ppl that was doin doughnut in wal-marts parking lot across the street from the campus

The stupid thing about this whole situation is that the media is crucifying everyone involved, and looking for an answer to the all time bullshit stupid ass question in situations like this “WHAT COULD WE HAVE DONE TO HAVE PREVENTED THIS?”
Nothing. Every once in a while, some mother fucker is gonna snap and pull a stunt like this. We live in a free society. I’d rather live with the knowledge that theres a .000000001 percent chance that some crazy fuck might come in my classroom and start waxing people for no reason than to have machine gun carrying cops patrolling campus constantly.
And on another note, the anti-gun movement is gonna try to eat this up, but I really, really hope it backfires on them. If a couple of those kids had been carrying, then the numbers would most likely have been far lower than what they were. And FYI, Virginia is a CCW state, but there is a specific law that doesnt allow guns on campus.
MD, on the other hand, is like nazi fucking germany when it comes to issuing CCW’s. By far the thing I hate most about this state.
Gun laws keep guns out of the hands of law abiding citizens, not criminals. Its disgusting that the government strips us of our right to protect ourselves with these ridiculous laws.

what the messed up thing is like darkstar said, is already they are looking ot kinda pass some of the blame. by asking the president of VT to step down! there were 2 hours inbetween shootings, nobody thought he was going to go across campus and do what he did. and now they are prob. going to try and pass it on to video games or movies or music that made this kid do what he did. its all bullshit. some ppl just arent wired right, and things like this happen.
and my biggest question. how the fuck does a non U.S. Citizen purchase a weapon??? how the hell does that happen?

well i agree that if 5 people have guns the guy is no longer in control… but one problem is there are soooo many wanna be tough guys that love to pull their heat all the time to show they are fucken tough or something. u’d think people that are going to school are in the midset to learn and not try to be tommy tuff nuts but it would be the one asshole that would draw and screw it up for everyone. i don’t think thou that student packing would creat shoot out… i think the benifits out weigh the risk and it should be legal to have a gun on campus… you’d have to have a way to regulate it thou, like if you get introuble for intoxication you loose your right to have a gun registered on campus. everyone with a gun on campus would have to notify the campus. seems like a smalll price to pay to carry.
