Well, without much deliberation, I’ll be picking this up at the end of the month as a second car. Mainly for use during the winter and for daily driving. Still might mod it a little bit though
1995 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR4
2,000 miles on a brand new motor and upgraded turbos (13G)
New clutch
All cats removed, with a 3" turbo back
Stainless Y-Pipe
TurboXS BOV (Recirculating)
I used to own a 1997 VR4, but foolishly sold it. So my business partner is looking to get the new STi and I am in need of a winter/dd, so we agreed on a price and now it is mine Now I get to have fun all year around! Last summer we installed the new turbos ourselves so mechanically, I am semi-familiar with this car, although it almost takes a doctorates degree to fully understand this beast.
Either way I am pumped to be back in one.
Here are some pics. The only ones I have on my PC right now.
Bought it off my business partner. The upgrade wasn’t the point of the switch. He seized the rear original turbo, so he found these for a really great deal. They aren’t really anything better than the 9B, except they do hold boost better up to redline.
Huge difference in power. 13Gs have went 11s. But, that makes sense. 15Gs are much better and similiar in price but if you got a deal, rock it. Careful if you have a stock wired FP…
Yea, 99 lifters. You might want to stay away from injectors/tune for simplicity. I am not sure what you are looking for but your setup + some BPU mods and an upgraded FP should be near 110MPH traps.
Yea I already have my “fast” car, which I also DD’d until I bought this one. So now the vette can take a break from all the miles.
I will drive this in the summer to, on occasion. But it’s main purpose will be winter/dd. The last VR4 I had was an absolute tank in the snow. I downgraded the wheels/tires on that one from the stock 18x8.5 to 17x7.5 and it went everywhere.
