Another one killed

It’s still a bad street bike because of the uncomfortable seating position and powerband not hitting until 40 plus, compared to a Vtwin sport tourer such as an SV or a motard with a single where you get power on demand. Out of every turn, away from every light Id rather have power down low than peaky.

Toomanycamaros - F4 isn’t a super sport, it’s an I4 street bike. While still has plenty of power, it’s more comfortable, forgiving and has a power band more oriented for street instead of track.

And believe it or not I have plenty of people argue with me that it’s not any harder to learn on an RR bike but I do agree that once you learn, it’s second nature.

Liter is more dangerous than a 250 just because you never have to worry about your front end lifting mid turn in a 250 or your rear losing traction from power.

im going to disagree there. i ride my bike to ride. i enjoy the free feeling. ive ridden harley-davidsons and other “lesser” bikes(performance wise) and i just never really enjoyed it. i ride my GSXR as much as i can. i do 40-45 on central in 4th or 5th. i dont wheelie, stoppie or even really hammer turns. i just cruise around. sure i could do it on anything, but i enjoy having the particular bike i have. its comfortable for me, and its plenty fast when i need it to be.

maybe i just have more self control? who knows, but saying a crotch rocket isnt a good street bike is all personal belief. its like telling a single guy that his S2000 isnt a practical daily driver. maybe for a married guy with kids its not, but its all relevant to your wants/needs.

I should have used different terminology. What I meant to say was Supersports (SS) bikes don’t make good street bikes.

I don’t mean that in a way of buying a Harley or a cruiser by any means there are plenty of options from most manufacturers that are not race replicas.

Instead of an R6 there is Yzf, instead of RR you have F4i, also 650R, SV, even the Z1000. All will have a better sitting position, better midrange street power band and more forgiving. All will also be very quick.

You can easily commute on an SS and many do, but why buy sacrifice some street abilities for racing when most won’t ever race?

Ill tell you one thing, I would have never been able to ride 3700 miles in one week on an SS, but the sport tourer did just fine.

It’s not that RR’s don’t do DD duties, they do just like you could get groceries in a viper, but a CTS-V wagon would be much better setup for the mission and would still have you smiling. If you never track your bike there are more sensible options out there.

Keep in mind your 750 is probably the most street friendly SS out there between ergonomics and power band. Which makes it the best SS choice for a commuter.

i love the way the suzuki’s feel. the 750 has enough low end grunt that it is good in traffic, its fast, but not so fast where you could easily get carried away, like the GSXR-1000s. i havent had the chance to ride a BMW S1000RR, but i have sat on my buddies, and it had a nice seating position. personally i cant ride a yamaha, R1 or R6, they are just too aggressive for my back to cope with.

ive ridden my bike quite a bit this season considering the weather. already coming up on 4k on the season.

at some point i think i will end up on a bagger of some sort. the H-D FLHX Street Glide is calling me, i mean whats not to love about these things

It had nothing to do with riding or getting a motorcycle. Yes, if you plan on doing 120 on rt 5, then I would never recommend you getting a motorcycle.

I am sorry for his death, but the real tragedy here is his daughter will now be alone and have to live without a dad.

rip.

also feel that bike is only as dangerous as the rider. my first bike was a 08 r6. this was the first bike other than dirt bikes i road. i bought it new and drove it home and i didnt kill myself. generally, not all of the time, but generally peoples lack of respect for the machine they are on is the issue.

so much winning going on with the street/road glides. so much you can do with them. IMO by far one of the best looking bikes when they are tricked out a little.

I cant kill myself at 120+ mph on the motard even if I wanted to, it barely goes over 90.

Bikes definitely play a role, plus they can people with no self control, like me, under control.

Arguably if he was on a 250 he would still be alive as it’s near impossible to ride like an asshole on one.

but if what slowmarro said is true, that could happen at 90 mph or 55 mph. so no you cant kill your self on a motard at 120+ but you or someone else could kill themself on a motard at 80+ or even on a 250 at 65+. dead is dead wether it happens at 120mph or 65mph.

The slower the speed the better chances of survival.

You know what’s in common with all the recent accidents? High rate of speed.

Low speed = accident, 100mph+ = likely death. Hard to argue with velocity.

well i understand that. but still take an impact with a truck at 65 or 85, and your prolly still dead.

alls im saying is saying crotch rockets are causing these deaths is like saying guns kill people.

i just feel the majority of fault is the guy riding it not the fact hes riding a crotch rocket.

What are you more likely to crash and or lose control on a Honda civic or a Corvette Zr1?

Would you drive them identically and never get on Zr1 any more than Honda?

People like fast cars because they drive them fast and experience the thrill.

If that bike took one minute to get to 120mph he would likely never even bother trying to get it to go that fast.

People don’t buy fast bikes to ride them slow and never get on them.

I’m not saying the bike is to blame for it all, but it definitely played a role and provided the opportunity to make stupid decisions.

I had a old escort once , it took forever to get it up to 90+ but I did it all the time to just do it . Yeah it may take forever to do it butt dumb assessing like me will do of reguardless of what your on

Yes the R6 is a horrible street bike, but I love it anyway the pain from a 3 hour or more ride is a labor of love.:lol

Believe me I am dying to hit the NJMP absolute cycle. I just cant swing it & my other hobby playing in a band at the moment.:Idiots

My dream is to race in the AMA:giggle

It all trickles down to the person behind the wheel or the throttle. Personally I have never come close to 120 on my bike or car & I doubt I ever will unless on a track. There are to many factors & variables on the street that I take into consideration, how my actions would effect others.

So if you put me behind a vett odds are I would drive below the speed limit to make sure I am seen in the car to impress the chicks… who still wouldn’t want me anyway.:excited

  • rep, new dood is smart

There wasnt a Turn where this Accident happened a very Slight bend but u can take it at a very high rate of speed even if its ur first time on a bike. I came up on the accident scene after it all happened kinda turned my stomach.

RIP Rider and Family

New info , he was flying and rear ended another truck . Did it all the time to show off

rear ending trucks?

Lol speading

THIS.

My wife saw the accident scene when the cops and all were there, and my uncle saw the body just as the troopers got there and were attending. He has been on 2 wheels for 30+ years and said it makes him “think”.

google maps Cranes Hollow Rd & Rt 5 Amsterdam.

I just dont get it. People need to start raising their standards. Who is actually going to see you doing 120+ down a public road, CATCH back up to you, and shake your hand and ask for an autograph? Anyone who rides, knows there isn’t much skill involved in twistNgo riding, and dont respect that. You might get some dumb bitch to ride on the back because they saw you at a club, but really? Is that going to make a world of difference in your life??? Just about every time i went out riding, I would have some squid pull up behind me come along side and boot it till he was out of sight… all the while my left hand never left the tank. Its just plan fucking stupid. I mean I would get on it in a straight line here and there, but never sustain the speed for a while, and def. wouldn’t be attempting to pass people. At 100-120 coming up on someone at twice their speed, by the time you were in their rear view and along side their door, takes all of 5-10 seconds depending on the road. WHEN YOU ARE DRIVING ARE YOU CHECKING YOUR MIRROR EVER 5-10 SECONDS??? NOPE Soooo, rule #1 always assume the car/other drivers DONT SEE YOU.

RIP to the rider and the family.

Calling a motorcycle a “crotch rocket” makes you sound like a bunch of clowns. Just saying…
