naw nigga… the police fucked you.
Hah! I should’ve warned yall about the cop trap on Babcock between the lake the pool…I live 3 seconds from there and see the cops nailing kids all the time while walking my dog around the pool/Pie Traynor.
County cops rampage this strip between the lake and the pool, all summer long- they sit in a few cuts in the woods above the road. You can avoid this strip coming from any direction- there’s a few ways around it (for example, Chad probably could’ve turned right up Kummer, left on West Ridge, and then straight onto Hemlock to the pool). If you’ve got a loud exhaust/tinted windows/waddever, you’re better off avoiding this strip of Babcock like the plague during the summer months.
i’d sign you off but i don’t have enough pull in the shop to do something like that. if something were to happen it’d come back on the store and not just me
so I can find it later, lol…
windows down when the poe poe are around. i like my 20 buc tint if a cop pulls my truck over ill offer to peel it right in front of him
I should have just stopped at your house and drank beer instead.
I live further up Babcock towards 910, and my day job was down McKnight and my night job was at the North Park Lounge, so I had to travel that strip of Babcock 4 times a day all summer… they have that nice little spot up in the woods where that old grove used to be. When the bushes and brush start growing in, they get damn near invisible up there, and they do sit there all the time.
ur point? my girl friend has epilepsy. my beef was with the state’s procedures not the laws or the officer who pulled her over.
do you feel good now that you brought up a thread that u probably spent hours to find that proves absolutely nothing… if ur attempt was to own me you failed. ill leave it at that.
Here you go. Read through this site. The state statute for sunscreening is very grey and does not specifically state what the percentages are for allowed sunscreening. I say leave the tint on and fight it in court, you may set a precedence for others.
Thanks John,
Give me a call this week and maybe we can discuss this
Now reading all this, with tint not being something to fail a car for inspection, The cop told me it is illegal for them to sell a car with tint on the windows, I assume he was referring to this instance i found on this site…
Some police explain the1996 Safety Bulletin by reasoning that the Inspection Stations just didn’t want to be bothered checking for tint, so they asked the State if it would be OK if they violated the above Statute and just passed illegal vehicles, and just let the police enforce that particular Law.
Really! It’s written by an officer who is an expert in tint laws.
Here’s what he says…
"Penn Dot came down in 1996 and said that tint was no longer part of the inspection process. They also said that it was still enforceable by law enforcement. This was at the request of the Garagemen's Association who didn't want to deal with it anymore."
So it appears that Penn Dot told the Police (in a Safety Bulletin addressed to Inspection Stations) that they should enforce this non-law because the Garagemen didn’t want to deal with it anymore."
It was written on the warning that I had violated 4524(e)(5) saying
75 Pa.C.S. § 4524(e)(5) requires the removal of sun screening products which were exempted due to a medical condition, prior to the sale of the vehicle. This paragraph also requires the owner or seller to supply the purchaser with a notarized statement setting forth the name and address of the owner or seller, the vehicle identification number, year and model, and the business entity and process used to remove the sun screening device or other material. Because of the wide variety of sun screening products available and the various methods used to install these materials, the Department is unable to determine the extent of the fiscal impact to vehicle owners who must remove sun screening devices or other materials from their vehicle to comply with the requirements of Act 1984-146 and Act 1990-137.
and 175.67(4)
(4) A sun screening device or other material which does not permit a person to see or view the inside of the vehicle is prohibited, unless otherwise permitted by FMVSS No. 205, or a certificate of exemption has been issued in compliance with § 175.265 (relating to exemption provisions). See Table X for specific requirements for vehicles subject to this subchapter. Passenger car requirements relating to the rear window are delineated by vehicle model year in Table X.
which on this sites state that there is no solid percentage stated in the law. just prohibits not being able to see inside the vehicle.
we need to petition the state to come to an agreed upon percentage, at least print a Number…
Pittspeed for a Change!
Also, John.
What about page 10 of this?
Next time bail out of your car and run away on foot to my house. Then report your car stolen and claim that the thief tinted the windows.
There is a lot of good information on fighting the tint idea, any chance we can get a sticky for this?
:bowrofl:
suck it up and deal with it, pussies.
