any more conquest??

Hey guys what’s up, I was just wondering if there were any other conquest owners on here. Just wondering.
And I was looking to get opinions on the conquest. If u like, dis like them…

I love Starion/Conquest, just junk the motor and put a 4G63. Best decision you ever made. There is a really clean Starion Tubbed out powerglide, the works, 4G63 that runs up at PRP (Pittsburgh Raceway Park).

I loved my conquest. It was an 87 with a ton of 89 parts on it, 2.5" turbo back, etc… I ran 21 psi daily on teh stock turbo.

I have one that I bought in 2000 and restored. Put way to much money into it. Engine was bored, eliminated the balance shafts and jet valves, cam, ported, lightened flywheel, 17c turbo, 3" exhaust, no cat, multiport intake with Hawk ECU. Suspension was all redone with Stedebani Poly bushings, KYB struts, Suspension Techniques Springs and larger sway bars (can’t remember the manufacturer). Stripped and polished the wheels, valve cover and the multiport intake. Polishing aluminum is alot of work, and I do not know if I would do again!

Only thing left on my list to do soon is have the seats recoved in leather. The seams now are starting to pull apart slightly and the leather is kinda stiff.

I’ve always thought those were sweet cars, DSMs are just more plentiful and have better aftermarket support. But a RWD 4g63 would be a sweet project. That idea inspires me.

were you able to get a before and after feel from the MPFI swap? I always wanted to do that to mine.

The multiport is 100% worth it. I spent a good bit of time on the swap and installing the new ECU. I have got it tuned to run pretty good. But I know it has alot more potential now with the multiport. Before the multiport I am guessing it would have run mid to high 13’s. With the multiport I know high 12’s are possible if I can get it tuned properly. I just need to spend the time to try to get it fine tuned.

how are you tuning it?

I have only been tuning it buy driving it around. I put a wideband O2 sensor in it and pay close attention to that. I have not gone to a dyno yet. I would like to but I am more worried of something happening to it there. My plan is to put alot of time into tuning it this summer.
