sooo yeah after seeing yambag’s wakeboard for sale and seeing a few others add some input i was wondering who else wakeboards on this site. figured i would start a thread where we can share some pics and discuss things.
anyways, been riding for a quite a while now. mainly just like to go out and relax, have a few beers and ride. not trying to go pro or anything like that.
ride behind an '88 ski nautqiue 2001 with auto ballast, tower, racks, stereo etc but plan on upgrading to a super sport nautique soon. v-drive is such a nice feature to have.
oh and if anyone has not tried out a pair of closed toe bindings, GO DO SO! it feels like you are wearing a snowboard boot. so comfy. anyways a few old pics (hopefully get some new one shortly)
and one of the boat before i added a pair of board racks (boat might be for sale at the end of the year if anyone is looking)
see thats the thing… it has a narrow hull so it only has seating for 6 or so but its not to hard to cram 7-8 of us in there when we ride. but its that narrow hull that throws suck a steep and lippy wake and thats why you see a lot of mid 80’s nautique converted to wakeboarding boats. they throw an overall good wakeboarding wake. super sport throws a better wake though and you can comfortably seat 9-10.
I’m learning how to wakeboard now. Kind of suck at the moment but I have hope. I have friends on Rushford Lake who own R&K Marina so we end up taking out floor model boats that are for sale there. This is our most recent love-
thats nice air, for those who think you cant get so much air, go youtube x games wakeboarding. youll be amazed at what they can do
as for starting this thread, props to you! it just sucks, i dont want to sell my board because i love wakeboarding, i just dont have the boat for it. Any one with a tower and willing to go out, please let me know. i am fully down for that.
as for everyone saying about the height and how much they are getting, the tower is the reason people are able to jump that high. if the tower is on the boat, it does not pull you back down to the water as fast and you get more hang time. if the rope is at the bottom of the boat, the rope is always pulling and trying to straighten out. it tends to pull downward a lot quicker, giving you less time in the air, and less height in your jump.
25’ pontoon boat ftl
im looking to possibly sell my 2000 seadoo rx millenium edition and pick up an older boat with a tower.
JayS, your size is not as much of an issue as the wake you’re throwing. It’s size isn’t horrible, but it is flat and has zero lip to it. You should try playing with the trim/speed to see if you can get it a little steeper. Some of those water bladders weighing down the back might help as well. If you’re into it, you can try to make it better.
Yeah, when we put 6 people in the boat the wake gets a lot better. That day there were just 3, and the two left in the boat while I was wakeboarding weren’t very big. I keep debating getting a fat sack for the ski locker area.
