Anyone else eerily slow at work lately?

The usual slow down in imports here. October was rediculous getting all the christmas shit cleared.

Good thing CBP just signed a new import law that will make my department even busier in the next year.

4000 a day is what we normally do.

BOOO YAAAA!
Just got another order, our competition is leaking like a screen door on a submarine in -30 temps. Ours, being superior, operates just fine at 30 below.:headbang:

It is still a bit eerie because we don’t have the usual “backlog” of work.

ouch

good.times.

No layoffs at my work yet. Though there are talks of Such events in the near future if business doesnt pick up. We are cureently busy as hell and on OT. im smelling a serious rat though because we are advancing like whoa through January’s orders(if my “secret agent man” skills have not let me down). So a question begs to be asked. If we build everything for january now, what will we do in january, and will it be done by a skeleton crew or the full compliment of employees?

Time to write some resumes.

Any ideas?

 Nice to know that quality still matters.

I guess channel 4 laid off that fat wake up anchor and some news caster.

Lisa Flynn? Good…she’s to fat

Just got an email today…

no more 401k matches in 2009.
fred smith is taking a 20% pay cut…if you don’t know who fred smith is then go watch Castaway.
Strategic Management Committee members is taking a 10% cut
executive vice presidents are taking 7.5%
and all salary exempt employees are getting a 5% cut and no raises or bonus in 09

these and other cost cuts so they can keep jobs and no layoffs.

09 should be interesting.

Kids are still going to school so my job has not slowed down. Even if they have to make cuts I am #2 on the seniority list so I will still have a job.

Up 17% in total sales for the year from last year to date. People may be losing their jobs but their walls are certainly getting painted no matter what, lol. “God gas is $4 a gallon, blah blah blah, sure I’ll take the $60/gallon paint”
