3G will be close, plus it’s also portable. Real 4G destroys that by up to and around 6x the speed (location, network congestion and device varies speed).

You’re way off. I’m tethering VZW 4G LTE right now and I’m pegging @ 1.9MB/s on a real download.
You’re thinking of megabits or mbps. I can hit ~40mbps on my TWC on some occasions. 3g I have hit a best of 4mbps and 4g I’ve had 30mbps, but generally it tests around 18-25mbps for me.

Not even close. Granted, 4G is absurdly fast – I even hit 2.5MB/s on a torrent earlier when I was tethering – it’s still not BETTER than properly working TWC.
Re-test on TWC again.
I get between 5-9 Mbps with TWC.

On charter always get 30+ sometimes 40-50.
On 3g i usually get 1-2 and occasionally higher.
On 4g 10-20 is common never below 8 really with any 4g connection, and sometimes 25-30 with quality connection.
this one is on my 4g connection with 1 bar in my house broadcasting as a mobile hotspot from cell phone.
My connection on TWC used to be horrible 5-6mbps was typical.

I have RR Wideband and the DL is phenomenal. I get all of the advertised 50mbps down. Upload is still rather weak for having the fastest possible home service from TWC and is around 5mbps.

I pay for 30mbps so im happy. they offer a 100mbps one for 30 bucks more, a bit hesitant because rarely do I find any site that can deliver that speed.
