i need a turbo manifold made for my car, im not looking to spend 400+ because they are really rare to find for my engine so im wondering if anyone would like to help me out and find someone or help me make one?
Cheap and fast and rare dont go together, sound like your going to have to call morgan or another place to get a custom one fabbed.
+1… give Morgan a call at Synapse, i’m sure he’d hook you up…Not for less than $400 though, i’m sure. Quality custom parts aren’t cheap.
:+1
or i saw fast eddie made his own manifold… try contacting him?
or maybe inline?
or maybe get a manifold off an sr20det thats a t25 and get a t25’d GT30r for it?
i’m not sure if the last option will work for you
or just fucking wing it with an SSAC.
:nono
:nod
SSAC is great once they are re weleded
better touch up the welds on the flanges before exhaust passes through them, or they will just crack and crack and crack, no matter how much you weld them
Umm thats what I said?
Re welded, in other words everything thats welded on the header you just grind and reweld
Umm if its an SR20 then theres nothing rare about the turbo manifolds for them
you said re weleded… a bit of a studder in your typing. :nana…
but seems that re welding is not something hell be capable of doing so in the end it would just be another cracked SSAC pile of junk
He could prolly get a shop to grind and re weld it for under 100 bucks…
and that sentra should be an SR20… so im still dumbfounded by where the hell he heard turbo manis are rare for it…
I belive even the SR16 uses the same manifold as well… pretty much all the SR motors use the same manifold?
not for a TIG job. figure 50-60$/hr shop time to grind and reweld the wastegate, manifold to head and turbo to manifold… … thats 3-4 hours of labor. so id guess 150 minimum plus tax… i hate these cheap-o builds though. kids buy these cheap manifolds expecting full race power and get a wastegate that falls off, then bicker about it.
Depends on the shop though, some of the more modest shops that have been around for awhile wont charge labor rate for a job, usualy theyll just give you a flat price… especialy some of the shops that specialze in welding/fabbing that have been around for some time
… a little off topic but look at broadway auto, they generaly dont charge a labor rate for their exhausts, they pretty much give you a price on materials and a flat labor rate.
Bingo! :nod My fab rate is $75 hour, min 1 hour charge for even a few minutes of welding. People who “think” they know how much a particular fab project should be are the ones that leave the shop empty handed. Just another reason why 99% of my manifolds are on full time track cars and not your typical street cars because most import type customers can’t stomach the ~$1K cost I charge for a one off manifold.
dude u saw my car haha thats no sr20…its a ga16de, can anyone on here weld cast iron? i got an idea
i can but my welding is sloppy and not strong.
hmm, you think u can practice a bit and help me out at some point?
haha. last i welded was 3yrs ago and everything i welded fell apart. so i’m not gonna get you all excited and get your hopes up.
