Anyone losing weight over winter?

A thread on another forum made me think of this, and the 5$ wood inspiried it.

Whos losing weight this winter? anyone even considering it?
early this year I hit 359 (holy fuck) and got down to 280 pretty easily over the course of like 5 - 6 months.

Well I kept hitting the scale at 280 and decided that the first 80lbs went easy, why not try to kick the last 60lbs?
6’5’’ 220 for my bone/muscle structure seems like a good weight.

So I started, December first and currently I’m in the 260 - 265 range.

Post up, and lets keep the bullshit out of this thread.

I’m slated to start cutting Jan 18th.

I usually gain weight over the winter because all my active hobbies are summer. This year I’m going to do a mix of free weights and elliptical though and see if I can drop some pounds before spring.

I’d like to. Once I get all this holiday stuff out of the way anyway. When I was single I got down to 180 in summer '08, then inched my way up to 215 over the course of a year and a half of not having to hunt for poon. I’d like to get back on track down to 175. it’s A LOT of work with my medical condition though.

I should clarify. Cougarspeed and I have been in a building routine for a bit now, I’ve prolly put on ~20 lbs. Still the size 32 waist pants I was wearing last year during marathon training when I was bouncing between ~168-~173 lbs. I’m between 190 and 194 now depending on when during the day I weight myself.

I plan to start Jan 1st, and by June hopefully be down about 40 lbs. Going to lift/cardio three days a week, snow shoe 3 days a week and hopefully fit a lot of skiing in

I’m going to try to pack on 20 lbs over this year… thats the game plan.

been there, got comfortable with a really gorgeous girl and started to gain some weight, broke up gained a shit ton more weight, ended up being in the 320 range for a good while after that.

Been with my girl now for 3 years and it was easy to pack the lbs back on for sure. went from 295 back up to 359 over the course of the last 2 years.

its nice to be getting back down, honestly I dont think ive been under 260 since I was like 13 (6’5’’ then) 10 years of this shit is enough.

My bp and all that is good, so if I kick the weight, I should stay healthier and not end up like a 600lb man with all the health problems, the bullshit with my eyes is enough.

but we all know, keeping it off is the hard part. I get the joy of not being able to do heavy lifting thanks to my eyes, so that takes the muscle head fun right out of it :frowning:

Good for you Karter.

I really should drop some pounds. I’m 5’11" 195#. For my activity level/muscle mass I should really weigh more like 175. Hopefully I won’t be traveling again for a while and school’s winding down so I should be able to hit a eating and exercise routine and either drops some pounds or at least trade some fat pounds for muscle pounds. I need to get some semblence of abs back for boating season 2010!

whoa joe just caught that, you have a medical issue too, details if you dont mind? feel free to pm me if you dont want the world in your business

Im working on it. Down 15 in the last 2 months… Thats with a combination of cardio and lifting. I know I’ve put on a good bit of muscle and lost plenty of fat. Now to lose 10- 15 more lbs. I am 180 now, 5’ 9".

I can share, not like it’s something I did. I have HGH deficiency. Basically, the stuff that got Barry Bonds the home run record and they caught a whole ton of baseball players using, that helps to speed up metabolism, build lean muscle mass, and burn fat, I only make like 10-25% of what a normal guy my age makes. They figured it out when I was 5’2 at 15. I started taking daily shots and they really worked, went from 5’2 160 to 5’10 170 in a year and a half, but insurance doesn’t cover it once you turn 18. Ever since I went off I’m stuck on 1200 calories a day as my equilibrium. :fu: Til I get rich and I can afford $3500 a month to get it cash.

I’m 175 now…I would like to gain 10lbs over winter…

I’m changing my diet and starting to exercise so I can lose the 30lbs I want to. I also think I need to start working on building some more muscle, I’m only 24 and my lower back hurts me all the time. I don’t want to be one of those old hunch back guys who can’t do anything physical because of their back.

I do bodybuilding/strongman stuff and was planning to bulk till 215lbs then cut to about 195 once I met my set goals. Well I made it to about 210 before I couldn’t stand that style of training anymore. Made great gains but was killing me! So now im somewhat cutting and down to 204lbs. Dropping weight is easy lol. Its gaining muscle that is HARD work.

I got pretty ill a month ago. i’ve let my newly shrunken appetite help me lose 15 lbs lol

Gym is not helping, I’m stupid hungry all the time, but i can’t eat much in one sitting anymore…

I dunno, not for everyone. I pack on muscle mass with minimal effort. I get ripped doing pushups with a weight vest. My arms get huge with the minimal effort.

I have to cut down to like 1500 cals a day to start losing weight…

i’d like to, gonna probably start trying a bit harder after the holidays.

Trying to put on at least 10 this winter.

i usually manage to lose weight without doing anything over winter, but i would like to lose ~20 lbs within the next few months
