Got it 2 weeks ago. I went to Canada last weekend and put my front plate on my dash, they didn’t say anything.
No plate for almost two years… No problems…
if you have it in the window its more noticeable to cops that it isn’t attached to the bumper. one example is if a cop is driving by he may not notice it not on the bumper but will notice it if its in the window and pull u over for having it there. another example most of the time when your pulled over the cop came from the side or behind you and 90% the cop doesn’t walk to the front of the car but if its in your window he may notice when looking in your carand give you a ticket for it not on the bumper. last thing, cops get more mad when its in the window because it can become a flying weapon in an accident.
Got pulled over yesterday in the MR2 for no front plate.
Didn’t get a ticket for that, but something else.
It’s a milestone for me…
I have now been pulled over the same amount of years old I am…

Oh no, Jay will attest, there were comments made about BOTH plates.
No front plate on the STi since I owned it. I was pulled over once for speeding, and he yelled at me for not having it on, but then he let me go on both counts if I put the plate on. If anything, the 70 dollar ticket is worth the very very slim chance of getting let go for a more expensive ticket.

No front plate here. I didn’t feel that the one bolt/piece of duct tape combo would continue to securely hold the plate and bracket to the bumper, considering how much I bottom out the front bumper in the mud. So I ripped it off and jammed it between the dash and windshield, cracking the shit out of the brittle dash to get that nice tight fit. It really gives my car that clean appearance I’ve been looking for. I was even pulled over, and the cop was “taken” by the other features of the car that he didn’t even mention the front plate.
I was - mine for 6 months then decided to put mine on memorial day weekend. No reason to give them a reason to pull me over. All I need to do is have 2-3 beers and get pulled over because of something so stoopid.
Officer - “you know why I pulled you over?”
no front plate dood - " uhhhhggg, causszzee ii’mmeee wwaassst-t-tedda?"
Officer - “actiually, I pulled you over because you didn’t have a front plate,
but would you mind stepping out of the vehicle”
no front plate dood - " awww sshheeiiittttt…"
i was originally pulled over for my loud exhaust but im guessing the cop gave me a break and just gave me a no front plate ticket since it was a much easier fix

I have been over the border twice with my euro plate and both times they didn’t say anything, but did take a walk to the back of the car to see what plate was back there, and I get lots of funny looks pulling up to the booth. But no problems at all crossing with it.
