Umm, going to the BBQ on Saturday? Maybe we could do something beforehand? I just don’t want to get down to Calgary and realize that the amp can’t really make any decent sound with the speakers. It’s 500w, but that’s 5 channels. If need be I can always ask my buddy about his speakers. I honestly don’t think he uses them at all so it probably wouldn’t be a problem.
No problem. It just seemed like you had totally disregarded everything I said previously (I even had to say it twice in the other thread, before you even acknowledged what I said), which I would’ve taken as an insult.
I can’t say that I know you from your screenname, and you quite possibly don’t know me either. But those that do know me know I don’t make a habit of BS’ing people, especially when it comes to cars (and car club business). I am one of the organizers for the Miata Club/Z Club joint slaloms, as well as the VP of the EZCC, so I am very much a stakeholder in what happens with the slalom schedule this summer.
On monday, I did what I thought was appropriate which was to give a heads up that we (Miata/Z) had already requested that July 10th date, so you’d be aware of it. And then on tuesday I IMMEDIATELY revised my post to indicate that the July 10th date was gone as soon as I got confirmation that it was already booked by someone else. The intent was help you and me to not waste further time on that issue.
Now now, we all know the buy in is at least 5.50. C’mon rolledmymazda you should know that!
Aye, Inzane - I’m not sure that I’ve met you yet. I wasn’t thinking that you’d BS’ed me, just wanted to make absolutely sure. After all, this is the first time I had ever tried to get info on events and so on. No insult intended. In any event, if the Miata/Z car stuff is open to registrations of the NECC, I’ll probably end up out there anyway.
Matt, does the UC parking lot have some power points somewhere? If it does and you can attend tonight’s meet, I could stuff the speakers in the trunk and we could see there.
Oh and guys, you give me too much credit with the $5.50 - I would have set the buy in at 50 cents. :E
…Dont hold your breath, this whole autocross thing apears to be very competitive amongst the organizers. Its seems like everyone feels threatened that we are trying to hold an event, that is why no one has really be helpful with timing equiptment rentals or how to get a hold of the Namao people to set up a date.
Now you’re starting to get the picture of why I was kinda dismayed a couple weeks back upon learning that new track space (ie. bud park) was going to be utilized for DRIFTING, instead of autocross, when there is already a very obvious shortage of suitable venues and very high demand.
Where Stratotech and Griesbach will fit in to the picture I don’t know yet. I thought Griesbach was getting bulldozed, but apparently the Corvette Club is planning several events out there this summer. shrug
Yeah, we do need more space to hold events like this - no doubt about that. I don’t see why other clubs would be threatened by another one trying to hold an event. I mean, I understand that we’re all fighting for the same spaces to run events, but look at the RX-7 guys. Eventually, they got pissed off because the organizers spent all their time organizing the events instead of driving.
Also, they shouldn’t feel threatened because other clubs might run different types of events - look at us, instead of autox we want to run a lapping day. Not one of those scheduled this year so far.
Whatever - we’ll run our damn event whether others like it or not. Just a shame that the whole car club community can’t come together to work together.
lol Welcome to the land of car guys where there is no limit to immaturity and stupidity
Included in that Andru is the need sometimes to forgive and forget for past transgressions. :yawinkle:
You got it Jason!
I don’t think I’ll be bringing it out tonight. I’m going to work at 10:30 so I don’t want to leave the amp in the car.
We’ll find a time I’m sure.
Alright - no worries!
See you guys tonight.
Where the problem lies though is if Club A wants to hold their “slalom” on Date X, and Club B books the same location on the same day for their “lapping event”. Now Club A can’t have their slalom. That’s why it can be a bit of a problem.
Oh yeah - I understand that much. I mean, it sucks that all the clubs have to fight for the same spaces, but just because another club scoops your day doesn’t mean you can’t/shouldn’t help them out. Look at the RX-7 club - they’re threatened by us, so they don’t give us any help whatsoever.
Anyway, I don’t want to turn this into a whiny “why can’t we all just get along” speech, but WTF. I mean, the rep the NECC is getting is one of helping people - if more clubs did that we’d be a lot better off.
I found a 10’X10’ Canopy today for $79.99. Its an easy to assemble and comes with a carrying case. My G/f and I were on the southside today and seen that place X/S cargo. It doesn’t seem too bad. I mean it would do for indoors and stuff, it doesn’t have side walls, just over top. Its made by Pop up it looks exactly like this style but it is white: http://www.raytechcatalog.com/product_info/deluxe-pop-up-canopy-10-x-10-x-8-393.html
Really? Thats pretty much what we need. Was it sturdy enough? Hmm, nice and cheap. Might have to go down there after exams and check it out.
Well if ya weighted the legs, it would be sturdy!! Ya best way is to check it out!!
You just need to put pegs through the legs to weigh it down if you’re on grass. Taping up the joints with duct tape helps also. :E
