since i cant make it tonight, ill post up some questions that quickly came to mind so others can also expand on it and gather ideas to help CSCS grow and provide good track days to all those enthusiasts out there.
judging is going to be like any normal judging. angle, line, speed, smoke?
how many laps do we get during qualifying round. i suggest at least 2 continuous laps to make up for mistakes and allow the drivers to learn more during this process.
how much time will be set aside for the competition/qualifying
how many qualifying positions will there be to move onto TMP
what happens at TMP?
if people qualify at the dunnville track event, does that mean no need to prequalify for other competitions later on in the season for CSCS or even other organizations such as DriftOps?
how does the pt system work for the cscs drifting, how many track events are allocated specifically for drifting to gain pts in this “league”
maybe develop a drifters license type of thing which expempt past qualifiers them from qualifying.
just some questions that came to mind. i’ve sent this list to a friend which will be going tonight so maybe he can fill the questions in later on in the night.
hope to hear some great ideas!
thanks
or set up another day for a drivers meeting and me and overboost and a few of our buddies (about 6 more of us that will be attending dips and pretty sure june 3) will attend
any day but wednesday
or post an outline of what was discussed at the drivers meeting
Hey it was nice meeting everyone today. there was some good info. All I can say is everyone needs to come out and drive, no matter what level of skill you have or if your car is track ready or not. we need to help support the ontario drift scene so it can grow and have more events and get reconized. Well I dont know if this will help get more people out, but i cant sum up everything that was said at the meeting properly.
Samson to answer your questions:
Speed, Line, Angle and try and do it with style to please the crowd if you can.
There will be practice all morning then qualifying later on so its alot of time to warm up.
Im not sure if i will answer this correctly, maybe chris can answer this one.
Depending on how many people come out there will be 6-8 spots from what I know of.
At TMP it will be solo runs because not everyone is at the level to tandum, unless you all think otherwise. “yet again chris can add to this answer”.
At this point and time we will have to keep qualifying for each event, unless you have a DM license etc… maybe there will be some sort of licensing later on but im not sure.
Points will be awarded for alot of things not just showing up and winning from what chris said. coming out to qualifying events can earn you points or helping promote. I think he still has to get the points sheet worked out. “yet again chris can add to this answer lol”.
Stated in answer 6 CSCS “might” do something like that…
Edit:
Outline of what was discussed at the meeting.
-What is CSCS? “for people like me who havent been to an event”
-Where they plan to go with drifting.
-Qualifying and Events.
-Judging/What they’re looking for.
-Question of where people want drifting to go. “if that makes sense to you guys”
-If we should have more competition, practice or demo events. “everyone said all would be good”
-How to get sponsorship.
Um… thats pretty much all I can think of off hand. sorry if I missed anything, I tried.
Check our site for this one…in short we will judge on line, angle, speed, and overall performance. Explained in more depth on our site/rulebook
Just like our qualifying in october drivers get two laps and the higher of the two lap points gets used. Check rulebook for more info
At the TMP events drivers will receive a little bit of practice and will jump straight into eliminations. The schedule for the qualifying days has not yet been set. I want to allow as much practice time as possible.

Drivers will compete for the top spot. It will be done the same way our Oct. event was run.
Qualifying on the 21st on sets you up for racing June 3rd not any other event.
check our site once again. or the first page of this thread.
Drivers licence may come into effect in the near future. At the current time we are trying to leave the doors open to allow as many drivers as possible.
I will be at the track early on May 21st and will be more then willing to talk then or after the event regarding all these questions and more. Sorry if these answers seem a bit short.
^ smoke? What if your tires don’t smoke up , but you got the angle and speed.
some tires smoke more than others, no?
mine probably won’t smoke up as much as someone who would be running SR (or someone pushing more power), since i’m just a KA
upgrade to summer performance tires.
all seasons give no smoke unless you got the power
krazykoncepts…
not sure if u got my pm… i went to the dips dunnville event on may 21st, but i wasn’t able to get my free tickets… how is this gonna work for the cscs event on june 3rd?
