the creepy meter is starting to rise in here.:uhh: lol at $10hr being pretty good pay. the christmas parties were nice but they were only once a year. Christmas bonus’s are OK for a company that doesnt contribute anything for your 401k and weak profit sharing.
you should probably stop posting in here then.
haha i have tons of stories… i wish he would get laid off
and the boat and yacht and other veichles that are in the warehouse he should sell just to keep me…
fuck im pissed about this lay off bc i do nothing in the winter except sleep…grr i wish it was spring so i could jet ski everyday
I’m thinking a tailgate party in the parking lot Sunday night 'till 7am Monday.
 Why are you guys stalking the owner and hating because he has money…
If his business practices upset you so much why don’t you open your own company?
shhh…if lay offs do happen thats one of my plans…sneaky sneaky
Derrick wasn’t a bad place to work. Fuck, I dicked around 90% of the time, just stared at my machines and read a magazine.
I got fired for taking a leave-of-absence for school, and then found out everyone in machine who was part-time was let go. They treated people well for the most part, but, should treat some a little better, there is A LOT of inside shit there that, if leaked, could fuck that company up. Anyone who works there knows what I mean, some REALLY know what I mean.
The Derricks had cool cars, but they were purely for status. Down in Machine Shop, mostly everyone was pretty cool, Repka was the man. I guess it’s like every other place, the guys who have been there for a while hold torches to the newer guys. I was given looks when I told full-timers I was an engineering major, never really taken serious since I’d been there for 3 years, not 30.
im not stalking him lol i was hired to work for him at his house. he told me if i needed a job, give him a call, but i dont know if thats my type of work.
F the DC you all should be happy and motivated that place is hell!!! Be happy you wont see green all the time. Take this as a positive and do something better with yourself. Sure for some it was great i went to school full time and could work whenever i wanted that was all that was good about it.
+1
I used to get sick non stop working at derrick. I even lost 100% hearing in left ear and was told it would never come back from some mysterious virus. Luckily i regained my hearing after a month of hard meds and in and out of the ER.
Every day i would go home and blow my nose to nothing but black and green stuff. There is no way in hell this is good for your health.
Im sure all the P/T office jockeys have no clue what im talking about but for the other employees that worked in the shop for 50+hrs a week, you all know what im talking about.
Anyway, all my sinus/illness issues have been pretty much non existant since i left.
WORD!!!
Depends on what department you work in I guess. Both rubber and screen cloth seem to be the worst.
good luck if there are layoffs tomorrow.
newman wanna post if there is tomorrow? I have school, and Don’t want to ask if I’m laid off if there were no layoffs
Layoffs are tomorrow. If you don’t even show up you’re not going to get called back when things get busy again. Man up and just go in. I have to drive 20 minutes to face my fate too.
Vinny’s on Clinton opens at 8am! See you there if I’m on the list! I expect one of you guys to pick me up at 5.
who has school in January?
Good luck tomorrow guys, hope the list is small
+1. I had the exact same problems you had, Johnny. I ended up sick for a few weeks because of the problem, and I got the axe from the 1-2 punch of Bill/Tom, saying they needed someone who would be there.
Anyhow, I didn’t so much hate the job as I hated some of the people. Gambino I liked, but alot of the other d-bags I could have done without.
Good luck to all you guys who got the layoff axe.
Me unfortunately…
