need labor to gut the shell of all unwanted weight. door braces, bumper supports, extra braces in the shell, heater box and etc. ever little bit counts and alot of metal that can be taken out of a fox. without any glass parts adn LS1 this car can be down to about 2500lbs or so.

also, gut the doors. can get 20 lbs out fo a fox door annd that dont include the regulator. ditch the regulator and seat belt strap it. i cut a few of these doors apart allready to shave weight.
gut the dash. no heater box or controlls. bare dash pad. i wouldnt worry about wiring. aint that much more weight.

goal shoudl eb get a car together, make it safe, make it fast, make it an auto, spray the hell out of it. i suggest a dual stage setup. as they know we would be spraying, bu dont know how much. make 1st stage liek 125, second stage more. only use 2nd stage when u need it. i.e. sandbag.
what about injectors? or hopw about using a tune port wiring harness and chip it? or i dunno… just sproutign off ideals…

also, got a spare oil cooler that can double as a tranny cooler. same size as the one on the front of my car. actually, it was a stock tranny cooler on a jag v12.

i have aluminum rad that i can make fit. it has ford outlets. but prob changed to whatever needed. I may donate wheels but may be. i can donate my old slicks that still have tread if we can get them to fit. 29.5x10.5x15. I can handle bodywork if needed. I will donate exhaust but would need mufflers.
Might I suggest that we don’t use a mustang? The show relies on being different each time to get viewers to watch the next one. Mustangs have been done.
Secondly… I suggest that we make it very public knowledge that in the event that we win, both cars will be auctioned off on e-bay. Proceeds will go to local charities. Just not abstanance ones. That way its more congruent with the introduction letter you sent them. Not being all about the almighty dollar, and personal gain.

my vote for a car would be an import with a domestic engine in it. I think people would definitely be interested in that over a ford with a chevey engine in it.
well, i may have a old rwd toyota celica. early 80’s. guy i work w/ picked it up for a donor for interior for the sunchaser he was selling. body aint pretty, but aint bad either.
im hunting for a cheap/free rx7 shell as those are light. my vw friend put a ford small block in one and sprayed the hell out of it to low 9’s on dot’s… and there is enough documentated chevy swaps in rx7’s that it cant be hard to do.
dont hurt to look for other shells, but at same time, i liek the ideal of puting a chevy into a ford to go on tv. although i liek the ideal of building a rwd jap car w/ small blockpower just for pure street sleeper status…

imo, no polls. whoeever is DONATING or SPENDING MONEY should have the say. u dont look gift horses in the mouth. goal is cheap and fast. so cheap= work w/ what is free, spend the moeny u do collect on hard parts. fast-- that will come via the labor put into it.
right now, it is gonna be tough to pass on brians mustang. solid foundation for FREE. only way i say to not run the stang is if u find somehting lighter, in good fo a shape, and FREE or Damn near it.
