running the stang woudl be the best and fastest way. it already has a 4link from the factory. just box in some things and i know the areas that need to be done. its easier to find parts for this setup then it would be a jap car with domestic motor. also dont need a pig block when a small block can do the trick and is LIGHTER

Rock the 240 like brian said. find a coupe and will be lighter than fox body. Something similar to project ugly… as for fab it would be same amount either way. Still have to make headers, still have to make drivesahft, motor mounts. Honestly would not matter. As for the rear, last time i checked Jay was running pretty good with Pat’s car. Remember this car is lighter so should not be as hard on parts. Especially if it is automatic.

dont need to make headers. like i said fox headers work with LS1 flanges just need to align the tubes up and thats isnt much work.
building a fox would require less fabing then a 240
the intial hit of torque of the SBC would be greater a turbo motor would. personally i would rather have a solid axle
notch fox can hit 2500lbs take more weight off and you ahve 2500lbs with driver

what is the real benefit of building a 9/10 second car? It seems that most of the races are won by the stupid ass negotiating. Build something that you can all of a sudden make faster, ie. turbo and wastegate like 1320 said.
You would need to have something that looks descent. I don’t think they would let a pieced together 240 that is 3 different colors or all rusty be on the show.
