Attn: Whitey

I got this e-mail response to an ad i have on DSMTrader about my car. Didnt this happen to you?

Hi there,
Thanks for your transperency,I’ll take it for that price you gave, but before we proceed i’ll like you to know that for now i’m on a business trip in Africa. Not withstanding i could still go on with the transaction through a client of mine in the U.S who’s owing me $5000.So what i’ll do is this; I would instruct him to make out a cashiers’ check to you although the money is more than the value of the car but i am willing to trust you with the money. The shipping arrangement will be handled by my shipper who ‘ll be on ground to pick up the car from your location as soon as we seal this transaction. As soon as the cashiers’ check clears you can send my balance to my financial secretary, the financial secretary’s information would be provided later, after i must have gotting in touch with him. The reason why i am doing this is because it will take a least 30 days for a cashiers’ check from U.S to clear here in Nigeria whereas it would only take between 1-2days for a cashiers’ check sent within the U.S to clear besides this is the fastest way for me to send money to you now.Lastly telecom here is not up to date but i’ll try as much as possible to get you on phone. If my terms are acceptable by you, please get back to me asap with the recipient’s name on the check, adress and phone no so i can instruct my client to send the money to you immediately.
Thanks again.

Roy.

im asking $2000 for it.

Dude, that is a straight up scam. When i worked for a used car dealer, we got shit like that all the time. Total scam and the check will bounce a few weeks later. Your car will be gone, and you’ll owe the bank $$$. Don’t even respond to that email.
