i weighed my options before i decided to sell it… i wanted different wheels, siqqq air bagzzz, new center diff, an oettinger bumper and def wanted more powarz.
i will say that an a4/s4 is a great daily you will be happy either way.
I am really thinking I want the A4 more…i have heard some great things about the 2.0t and judging by what everyone is saying they seem to have a lot of potential with few mods…I def think the S4 would be nice but i am still debating whether or not its worth the extra money. From what I am seeing the mods I would do vs the cost…I could have an equal if not better A4 after mods for less money than the S4.

I would vote for the S4. Then again, I’m at a point in my life driving a super modded, non-warrantied turbo charged 4-banger just isn’t all that appealing. Not to mention, to get serious Stage 3 power, you have serious Stage 3 issues. Funny how Viper’s car lost 40HP in a matter of 2 posts… :mamoru:
Either way, there are other differences between the S4 and A4 including suspension, brakes, interior materials, seats, technology bits, etc that make a big difference IMO. The A4 is definitely a more economical choice though and if you’re willing to mod, then it isn’t that bad, it is just a bit anemic out of the box.
I find the S4 to be a great daily driver. Its not something I need (or want) to mod. If you were looking for something to make a track car out of, or a drag car, I’d go elsewhere… but its a great daily IMO. I agree that the styling of the 3-series, esp. the interiors, still makes it impossible for me to even consider them, but to each their own right?
I mean, for the money, you could build a honda hatch that was quite a it faster too… but…

thanx for the input fellas…I have been looking at a B7 A4s and S4s pretty closly the last couple of weeks…just for shits and gigs RS4s too but they are out of my range…but sexy …
i am taking everyone info in and really going over the pros and cons of each car…i like the fact with the S4 i really woudnt have to do anything to it at all and it would be a nice quick fun daily. Although the intial cost of the A4 is obv. cheaper i think to get to to the point where is doesnt feel anemic it maybe better just to start with the S4…I actually drove a B7 A4 this weekend and I agree bone stock its def. a nice ride and handler but to Me atleast it did feel lacking on power a tad…now thats means out of the gate I would probably want …Downpipe, ECU Flash and exhaust…to be totally honest I havent looked at the cost but I would imagine its near the 2 grand mark when all said and done…
But again appreciate all the input…now I see A4s everywhere just teasing me cause i think they are sex
I would go S4 over A4 and B7 over B6 for sure. The style and little changes make the difference, and I feel the B6 looks as dated as the B5. When are you looking to buy? I may have a B7 S4 for sale toward the end/middle of summer for a pretty fair price. It has a cat-back and suspension. It would not be for sale any earlier though.
i am actually not looking to buy for a while…obvious awesome deals could push my purchase up :)…but for now I am really jsut looking around and researching so I know what I am getting myself into and what to look for when I am ready to buy…
