I’ve been looking at newer S4’s and I’ve noticed many 05’s that were B7’s and obviously B6’s as well, and 06’s that appear to be B6’s and obviously ones that were B7’s.
what the hell is the deal with this?

Misprints in the year of the car?
is there a definite year that they changed from B6 to B7?
but IMO the big difference is the B7 has a quattro system that doesn’t suck really bad. It’s biased to the rear so the car doesn’t feel super numb to drive.
I really like how the B7’s look to begin with, and more rear bias is the deciding factor, even if it costs more for one.
I still wonder why I see 06’s that look like B6’s, guessing that since they started B7’s in 05 while they were still making B6’s, 2006 came along and they still had parts for B6’s so they just squeezed out some more B6’s in the beginning of the 2006.
Probably because VW and Audi do that stupid half year thing, like the 04.5 GLI had the lip kit unlike the 04 GLI, or that the 99.5 Jetta is a MK4 but the 99 Jetta is a MK3, my Audi is a 00’ not an 00.5 or it would have a different turbo set up…
i have an 05 b6 s4 avant. they started making b7’s in 2005.5 and did not make any more b6’s past that so i am sure that it was a misprint or someone didnt know the year of thier car. anyway i love the way the avants look on b6’s so it really made my decision easy but as far as the whole quattro sucking thing i really havent noticed it sucking with the 50/50 split but if you wanted to get a more rear based and you decide to go b6 you can pick up the stasis torsen diff which can put up to 88% of the power to the rear on exiting corners.
I’m pretty sure by next fall both my cars will be sold, it’s going a little slow, and I want a sprint blue(I believe that is the name of the really bright blue) B7 6sp. found one at a dealership 05 or 06, don’t remember with 24k for 27.9k.
how is that for price, are many of these on audizine? I don’t care about extended warranties so a PP seller would be great but all I find on autotrader is dealerships.
st3 TTs dont stand a chance against a st3 b5 s4 which can be anywhere from 400-500chp and the supercharged v8 has 495chp. i would think between the 2 the b5 would come out victorious taking the weight of the b6 into factor.
MTM isnt the only company who makes them anymore although the MTM is insanely expensive (like 25k). AWE/VF has a kit out that retails at 9500 and WALKS an rs4 like whoa.
actually you can get a used s4 for like 25-30k and throw the charger on it for 10k and you are still saving 15k off the price of a used rs4…
