I was looking at getting a b6 s4 just have a few questions about them. How are the transmissions in them? Ive test drove both manual and automatic and both seem different then what i am used to. How are the transmissions? Do the hold up well?
Anything else i should look out for?
WHen should the timing chain be done in these things?
Apparently those 4.2’s are high maintnence from what every one says
They burn oil, a lot, all of them
4.2 is junk, my buddy had one.
timing chains need to get done most likely soon… to to them you need to drop the motor and trans due to the timing chains being on the back side of the motor. TONS OF MONEY! plus these things suck for moding

B7 are so much nicer looking. I can’t stand the b6
SO all they do is burn oil and the timing chain that should last nearly the life of the vehicle needs to be changed every 150-200k… Better than timing belt every 60k and turbos every 100k.
Drive it and check the oil like any one should do with any car…

Buy a clean Honda and once a year soak the sheet metal in motor oil. Hondas only need oil on the outside.
