I thought about the whole course layout being confusing too, but after watching some vids, it doesn’t seem to bad at all since they have cones pointing in a certain direction guiding you through the course.

jpod, from what I’ve heard and seen, it seems like you can learn a lot about suspension from autox. i guess you could say the same about drift though, just a bit different. to each his own.

If he has 12/10 setup, then by all means he needs some fatter and grippier rubber eg; r comps cause thats pretty much useless otherwise unless he wants to slide around while overloading the poor lil tires. One could only guess at the typical issues with an s13, without knowing what he has. Secondly s13s have shitty front travel, too much anti-squat in the rear, usually a combination of tricks are used to make it all work. Being lowered is not exactly going to help the front have more travel and prevent further understeer, nor will a shittyly oversprung rear help with an already too much antisquar rear end help with preventing oversteer. A stock s13 understeers just as shittily as this supposingly mighty mega megan super acurate track coilover’s 12kg/mm spring rate that he has it seems, so maybe there’s something else going on. I don’t know, obviously I asked what’s his setup.

285/30/18 is actually a perfect fit on an s14, it offers awesome grip and yet remains a short-tire, cause everything else becomes a bit too tall for the front of our cars. it’s doable on an s13 as well and J-rho ran 295/30/18 on his s13 for your information. Most SM guys, different autox guys and some track guys run them down in the states and europe. Still unheard of here I guess. Things are kind of slow canada-side, thats why I mostly spend my time talking to guys down in the states and europe.

I mean one of the guys (i dont know him well but interacted with him online lol), he ran 275/40/17 front and 295/40/17 with a wing and later a front splitter with only 250whp SR… he was eating 911s, keeping pace with some GT3s, you get the picture.

I think that’s the size Don from PDM racing also runs on his SM car

That’s why for my car I’m not really caring much about power, it’d be nice down the line about 400whp from an LS V8, but more so concentrating on the overall build of the car.

PJ above runs about 350whp from a KAT.

He actually runs a ccw rear with 315/30/18s, for your information this is my buddy PJ as in the video :wink:

You realize most guys down in the states that run NA KAs run 255/40/17 all around right… It’s funny how most guys up here still run 215s and 225s with modded SRs

I’m really looking forward to refining my driving over anything else next year in spring if all goes according to plan for track time, God willing. Driving is the most important no doubt about that :slight_smile:
