Autocross Classing Explained

For the uninitiated:

Autocross is a silly ‘sport’ whereby wanna-be race drivers take turns dodging plastic cones in a parking lot. Speeds are low and the element of danger is almost non-existent. Unlike most other forms of motor-sports, Autocross costs almost nothing. In fact most competitors do not even own a car but use those brought to events by novices.

Some drivers will drive upwards of 4,000 miles round trip to drive around cones in a parking lot for a total of 4.5 minutes over 2 days against other people are very skilled at this “parking lot driving”.

The primary attraction of autocross is that it is a relatively inexpensive way to meet teenage girls brought to the races by their pimply faced, baseball-hat-on-backwards, Honda CRX driving boyfriends. Many clubs use this aspect of the sport to try to attract new members by featuring condom giveaways for novice drivers.

The SCCA has ladies classes for autocross which share the same rules as the open classes but limit participation to women and transvestites. It is common for husbands and wives, boyfriends and girlfriends, brothers and sisters or even two unrelated drivers to share the same woman. Women are not, however, prohibited from running in the open classes if they desire to be humiliated.

:wtf:

I think we should be in Spec Rust class. Since Chris’s black honda magic has no equal

You wait, your chassis will disappear too someday :ugh2:

That whole article is awesome, there are lots of little hidden things in there that have happened at nationals that it makes reference too. Honda’s spinning into electrical boxes and transvestites in the ladies class are NOT made up lol. Like I always said if you can race around a parking lot at 60 mph and dodge little orange safety cones you better have a sense of humor about it.

someday in the near future
