Automatic Tranny in Cobalt

my girlfriend’s 06 cobalt has a leaky axle seal. im not sure how much fluid will end up coming out of that seal when its replaced, it may not even be noticeable. but in case it is, i didnt see a dipstick on her car. it was dark when i was looking for it so i may just have missed it, but how do you check the fluid level in these cars or add fluid if necessary. please dont tell me its one of them sealed units that “doesnt need regular servicing”

oh ya, its an auto 2.2

passenger side of trans where axle goes in,is a plug like a rear end, removed it 11mm ( i think)car level start & let idle fill till fluid starts to come out, fill hole is on drivers side on top of trans,if u jack up the where seal leaking,u shouldnt loose much,i never do!

O’by the way,pics of said g/f!

Sometimes leaks can be a bit confusing about there origin as well as the amount and in certain cases they may lead to major problems and would need major overhauling. So better you get it diagnosed by a professional as early as possible.
