Eagle Talon TSI Transmission Question

My car is an Eagle Talon is a 1996 TSI AWD.

I was wondering how I check the fluid level in the transmission(manual) and where (how) do I add fluid. The drain plug is leaking and I’m waiting for one to come in from Terry Morris Chrysler. I don’t want to lose the tranny I have enough problems. Thanks Guys

There is no real way to check it. Drain it and see how much comes out. Check here for more answers http://www.vfaq.com/

You just fill the tranny through the upper fill plug until the fluid starts to pour back out and when it stops replace the cap. Must be done with the car up evenly on a level surface or lift. If the transmission is newly rebuilt, overfill by about .2QT, drive the car for about a mile and return to open the fill plug/drain excess. the excess fluid helps fill air pocket areas in the bearing faster when new, but you don’t want to leave it that way as the halfshaft seals will be prone to leaking.

Good advice. Hopefully the used a magnetic plug so you can see any metal (hopefully none).
