I wanted to know houw i can change my transmission fluid in my 1990 240sx 5-spd, tried searchin on google but came up with nothing i know i need to you 75w90 or redline mt-90.
drain plug at the bottom, fill plug at the side (drivers) of the tranny or thru the shifter. easy as sunday morning and shop lifting
if your going to fill from the side, you need a hand pump to pump the oil up into the side.
i think you need 2.5L for the transmission, or fill it until it starts to pour out from the side bolt
thanks guys, i’ll get on it tomorrow morning. Do i Have to jack up the car?
If your 240 hasn’t been modified with a Jeep Chassis, lift kit and 36" mudders, or you do not have some kind of hoist or in the ground “walk under” then you will have to jack up the car.
Just changed mine a couple weeks ago.
Tranny feels so much nicer and cleaner after.
Isn’t it more work to pour it in through the shifter? I used the hand pump and poured it in through the filler plug at the side, easy as pie, just a bit more time consuming.
