guy should not have been fired imo

If that shit happened in my store, he would be Employee of the month, for a year straight.

/thread

Im proud of this post, simple and to the point. :rofl but I agree with you

hahaha

look at my other threads as a challange! lol I usually hold a consistant opinion, it just takes me longer to get out sometimes! LOOOOOL

glad i don’t do business there.

I used to do business there, I certainly won’t anymore though.

x3 bunch of pussies, thats not right

as a former employee of theirs, i am not surprised by this at all. they really do not care about the lower level people that work for them.

+1

What a bunch of douchebags. Dude saves a guys life, a true hero … and they fire him. AutoZone will be the last place you see me.

hopefully this puts a dent in their pocket

Free wings and Hot beer were talking about a bank teller that called a robbers bluff, make him run away, chased him down, tackled him, got him arrested just to come in the next day and get fired. No previous complaints about him, long term worker, no warning, nothing, BAM fired for doing a good deed. :ponder

you drunk alpine

In a situation like this I would love to actually see the government step in (which obviously they wont) for fucks sake the guy is Air Force veteran so somebody at the White House should grow a set and put those corporate bitches in their place and make them give his job back.

AMEN

Advance has/had a similar policy. If someone is stealing from the place, simply call 911 and take it like a bitch.

it simply comes down to the fact that people suck. If the guy acted and ended up getting the manager shot what do you think would happen. The manager would sue the company for the other employees actions.

Autozone is doing it to protect themselves

Your or someone else’s life is not worth the $800 of some shitty auto parts chain.

^^ this but he did who knows he could have saved his bosses life

My wife worked in some retail places in highschool and shortly after too. That was the policy as well. The clothing store in the mall she worked at, they would watch them steal stuff and could not confront them. Just call mall security. And even then, mall security couldn’t approach them unless THEY watched them too. Then it was even an issue with detaining the perp until real cops showed up. She never saw the entire thing actually take someone away in the back of a car.

Logically the policy is to protect the store, from the employee being injured or worse and turning around and saying “Well I was just trying to do what I felt was right” and suing them. Which I can totally see. But that would really only apply IF someone was hurt sticking up for their place of employment, for their friends or family, or just for humanity’s sake… ANNND wanted to sue them after the fact. BUT just make the policy in such a way that it allows someone to make a moral conscious decision prior to taking actions in their own hands, and put all responsibility in that persons hands.

Cover both asses.

Same thing in Walmart last year.

Here is the bank teller one from 2009
