Just get a b18b and boost the shit out of it. And if you blow it up you can get a bottom end for like $200.

I think a b18a/b doesnt really need built up for a reasonable amount of boost. I would just do a headgasket/ arp studs and you should be able to run atleast 12 lbs safely on it.
(BUT this isn’t with a POS FMU or some bullshit like, cuz you’ll MOST LIKELY blow it up anyway no matter how built it is.)
on a smaller turbo 12 will be cool, but they used to shit at like 12 on my 60-1 i was tuned on crome, reving to 7 should be ok anything higher then that is poop
