i’m seriously not havin a good weekend. Earlier today, while putting on my factory wheels my lug lock broke and took one of the locking lugs with it. sigh so now monday I have to call McGard and order a new bolt and a replacement lock. Good thing i kept the little paper with the codes on it, or i’d have have to pay out the ass again for a whole new set of lockers. i also have to go to good year to get this bolt removed after work and replace it with one of the spare ones ive got. now i only have 3 spares left. I mean, even the fact that i went to a great party with a buncha hot girls and we drew on their nipples and i saw a buncha boobies and girls making out 2 feet infront of me on a couch doesnt cheer me up right now.
I’m planning to take that wheel to good year, right by me and have them look at it and tell me what they think. i dont think it hit the tire, i think the lip itself caught the edge of that pothole. either way…sigh it sucks for me.
i suppose, but we pay them taxes…wait let me rephrase that, they TAKE our taxes for a reason. for road maintenance and stuff like that. why is it that in clifton park the roads are just fine? ive been living here for about 10 years, and the roads around the bus station in albany where i have to park still look like an artillery range. i see 0 progress on doin anything there. i think ive got a right to be pissed. i had to buy a new tire not long ago because i hit one of those and it bubbled out the sidewall. it may not be their fault, but it IS their job
it is their job, but it is impossible to fix every pothole as soon as they form. It should not be the city’s fault that you bought an aftermarket wheel and weren’t paying attention enough and wrecked it hitting a pothole. I’m sure a factory wheel would not have bent in the same situation. You have every right to be pissed, but you should only be pissed at yourself… for hitting the pothole.
well, i dont know that pothole personally, but i cal tell you about where i drive in thru daily. the holes are still there. daily, monthly. the part around the bus station has been there for a decade? thats not quite long enough to get fixed? really? the reason i hit the pothole is because it was night time and i was looking to my right to change lanes to make a right hand turn. i mean, ive hit cracks and some pot holes before, but ive never cracked a rim like THAT. i dont plan to buy an suv, or a truck and putting on 1 foot tall muds that are 2 foot wide so i can just navigate to work over this artillery range impact site. im sure nature wrecks roads all the same pretty much everywhere in the northeast, right? then how come i dont have to slalom drive thru latham? or clifton park? we dont have potholes in clifton park. they must have magic roads in clifton park or am i missing something? theres just as much traffic going through busy areas in clifton park just like in albany or any other busy part of state. how is it my fault for driving a car and not a tank with metal treads? i would admit 100% fault if i was flying at high speeds, but i wasnt even touching the gas pedal, i had my foot over the brake. like i said i was about to make a turn, so this was VERY low speed. as far as paying attention to potholes? i remember most of those ones on my way home or to work. i kinda have a habbit of this now. if you guys remember my red eclipse? it was about 3 inches off the ground and i didnt feel like smashing it on a daily basis, so i remembered the major holes and would just avoid them. if you see me going to work in the morning youll see me swerve on the exit because theres a hole ive hit once already and i didnt like it much, so now i just make zig zags as i make my way into the parking lot. this happens daily. that one pothole i didnt have a personal relationship with, not till this saturday night. so i AM on the cautious side of driving. those who have seen me drive, know. i drive like a grandma. if i kept hitting potholes everywhere and was complaining about that, yes by all means, u can say im not cautious. but the fact that i remember most of the road home topographically speaks for itself.
on another note: so i called ogs and they apparetly have a form for this kind of crap. so i had them mail one out to me today. we’ll see what comes of this. ill walk in there with the wheel if i have to to get them to move on this process, like Pete said, ill keep pestering them.
latham’s actually pretty bad in some parts. although it does get fixed pretty fast since everyone calls and bitches right away. they patched the 3 holes on my street last week. its nice being able to actually turn into the street and not have to worry about hitting it anymore!
this is so stupid why they can’t take care of our roads…i mean most of the potholes and shit near the capital after central merges with washington have been there for a few years…y can’t they just fix em…
Stop by Govel’s and see if they can fix it. More likely than not we could. I know it’d take some work to make it look 100% since its on the outside, but with some sanding and polish, it sure can be done. BBS wheels aren’t cheap! :angry2
