I was surfin through craigslist and i came across a 1st gen DSM
http://pittsburgh.craigslist.org/car/491396730.html
i noticed it said that the balance shaft were removed.um to me that doesnt sound right but i no pretty much nothing about DSM’s.So if ne of you could explain that 2 me that would be nice because im confused.
it dosent hurt the engine at all.
you the driver only feels a little bit more vibration.
its as common in dsms as removing the A/C
Done reight, ITs a Good thing
so your saying it frees up horsepower?
acouple. its also one less belt to worry about breaking and getting caught in the timing belt and making it jump timing and smash the valves into the pistons. very common mod.
yeah. The balance shaft belt or part of it actually spins faster than the t-belt, theyre known to break and wipe out the timing belt.
no biggie. i didnt even go that far and just cut my belt and left them in.
if i remeber right you get better oil pressure when theyre removed too, if anyone can confirm this be my guest
