i might head down there this weekend and see if i can spot them. There’s a bunch of wild ones about 20min north of me where a co-worker lives, but i’d be cool to see them nesting right in the city.
if i can see them depending on where the nest is, if its deep in the navy yard i wont be able to get close enough, its all locked up, secret hush-hush stuff in there.
Theres a bald eagle that hangs around up the road from my house at the dam. It’s actually pretty cool I’ll be driving home and you can see him swooping around above. Then about 20 minutes later theres like 20 cars stopped and watching him.
They really are a beautiful animal to see in the wild.
The U.S. population has grown to about 7,000 pairs from a low of 487 in 1963, the service says. In Pennsylvania, there were 117 nesting pairs in 2006, up from two or three in the early 1970s, Gross said.
The shitty thing is that they are going to get fucked over hard once they get taken off the endangered speices list. Every redneck dumbfuck is going to go out and try to shoot one. next thing you know they will be back to very low numbers.

i doubt they’ll start issuing hunting permits for bald eagle and still keep a huge penalty if caught poaching
