Batavia International Motor Sports

just curious who on here has been to and run laps at this track…

i was going through one of those buffalo coupon books that you buy for $15 and get like $250 worth of shit in, and 4 of them are for 10 free laps there with purchase of 10 laps on the same day…

i’ve been wanting to get some track time in…a lot of track time actually, to begin to legally get a feel for my car’s limits, and just for experience/fun…

is it a decent track? how long is it? how long did it take you to get around and in what car?

if i like it, i might end up using all 4 coupons, then the 4 in my mom’s book as well…can’t beat free shit

IT IS A GO-KART TRACK

There will be only two chances to drive a car there:

WNY-SCCA will have an auto-X there.
08/13/2006 WNY Event 7 - Batavia International Motorsports Park

and BMW Club has one or two there.

and why would you put something with the word “motorsport” in general automotive?

or unless u won a go-kart…but yea man its for GO-Karts…like Jeremy said Auto-X is pretty much ur only shot

They have two self supporting go-karting leagues there.

One you arravie and drive 7hp Briggs. ~$300 memebership ~$30 a race
The other you purchase a 15hp Briggs World Forumla. ~$3500 kart ~$30 a race
Can’t remember the exact pricing.

Plus they have other leagues with non ‘spec’ karts, shifters, yadda yadda.

Don’t get me wrong Karting is a great sport to get into.

I think I have been go-karting there before.

Its one of the scca events that everyone goes to, they have like 150 cars sign up for that. I missed it last year because i was at STPR and STPR is > autox.

Only 108 showed up last year, getting 5 runs.

So, the everyone has declined slighty over the last coupe years.

Doesn’t mean it wasn’t fun as hell though…

Granted you are correct, it was still fun as shit though…

I ran the event last year there, enjoyed the hell out of it…

I ran the pca event a few years back, fun as hell. Can’t wait to do it again this summer. It is a go-kart track, not very long, but still more fun than a normal auto-x.

yes we all know its fun…but Andy wants to get track time in his Z and they only open up to regualr cars for SCCA and BMWCCA events i am pretty sure

but it does mean that the original poster can’t go there to push the limits of his car, as was he intention, unless it’s durring an Auto-X

Go durring one of the Auto-X days. IMO this is the best one I ever did

i ran it last year, like everyone else said its not huge by any means but still fun

if i have my own kart can i run? I have a margay cheetah on slicks, holla

Even then, pushing the limits there is not the best idea. Just ask the people who have hit the wall… (Three of you are on here, not sure on the fourth)

hitting the foam wall at batavia > hitting any other wall

You can push your car to the limits @ Batavia, you just gotta do it in the right spot.

i think steven can attest to the foam  comment

I loved it, and i beat the crap out of my subaru there…i hit 3rd gear on “the straight-away” and then hit the brakes as hard as i could…but i have seen a high end BMW 3 series ramp, grind and bounce off of the steel gurder at the top of “the straight-away”…

…anyway, its fun as hell, and kind of like driving on a real track, except you may only hit 3rd gear and you wont be lapped by a RUF.
