Anyone knows what’s the CCA rating for a standard battery for 240sx?
you mean the stock battery that came in the car from the factory?
other wise cca makes NO difference what so ever in the car… there is no spec that you must meet for the 240 specificly.
just buy one that has at least 600 and be happy.
if you want to be really happy… buy an optima red top from overdrive (905 836 0600) for 170 plus tax

I want to put a smaller motorcycle battery in the car, but I don’t know what’s the minimum or recommended CCA in order to start the car in the cold. Optima doesn’t make any small battery, I don’t think.
If you have any kind of stereo, don’t put in a smaller battery, just relocate a normal battery to the trunk.
if you plan on using the car in the winter time id recomend sticking with a regular sized battery.
no reason to go that small… and really… batteries dont weigh that much… move it to the trunk and forget about it.

Don’t listen to these babies.
I use a Miata battery and the thing rocks. Easily powers my stereo and has never given me winter starting issues. Cost was about $150.
There it is tucked away in the bottom left hand corner…teehee…how cute.
I am not putting it in to lose weight. I need it to clear intercooler pipes. And I don’t want to relocate to the trunk for several reasons.
What’s the rating on the miata battery?
hah well that being the case we have honda civic batteries that would work fone
51r from interstate that would do the trick im sure

340CCA
Incidentally, this is the same as a lawn tractor battery from crappy tire :hs:
You may also want to look Odyssey batteries if budget is not a concern.
My plan is to go with Odyssey battery, thinking about the PC-925 with 380CCA. But I can’t seems to find a dealer in Toronto. That’s the problem.
