Beat a T/A and an Accord

The T/A was black and newer style (I’m not up on the style differences between LT1 and LS1 T/As). The Accord was dark colored, had four exhaust pipes (two on each side), and might have had a body kit (not sure if Accord coupes come with ground effects).

We were all lined up at a red light. I overhead the following conversation from the Accord:

“I’m a fuckin’ smoke both they asses”.
“Nah man, but I think joo at least gonna smoke da Mustang”.

At the green we all spun. The T/A and I put about a bus length on the Accord real fast. When I shut down at ~75MPH, the T/A’s nose was right at my rear bumper.

I wasn’t spraying. The Zex kit is unistalled right now.

what do you run w/o the spray? That will likely tell you what it was… a LT1 t/a that is lightly modded will probably run lower-mid 13’s with a good driver…
an LS1 with light mods, will absoultely smoke that… all depends on the driver i guess, but just going from the fact that you run 13.3’s, it was probably either a bolt on LT1 or a nearly stock LS1…

Heh…the Accord actually didn’t have the stereotypical big wing. It did emanate that “ricer” attitude though…for the record, I respect fast imports. This was not one. :smiley:

As for the T/A…last year my best N/A run was 14.4@96, with my timing, fuel pressure, and spark plugs set up for the spray. Since then, I’ve done a little work (Edge 3000 RPM torque converter, Cobra intake manifold, 1.7 roller rockers, some other bolt-ons), and I’m tuned to run N/A right now. I hope to break into the 13s N/A on Saturday at PRP…so I figure the T/A was either a stock LS1 or a bolt-on LT1, just like you said.

show me in writing where i said that, and as for what you know we’ll let you answer that one. as for stock LS1 beating those times. there are a few members on this site that ran high 13s/low 14s with their LS1s before. does that mean anything on hte street? no it doesnt. also if you did break 14s lets see a timeslip by you driving it, just as you claim that your bike can beat newer R1s :rollyeyes:

What are the main LT1 and LS1 differences from the front? This car had…nostril looking scoops at the front of the hood.

Honestly, I totally believe that IF it was an LS1 car. A well driven manual LS1 should definitely be able to beat my Mustang off the juice. So if it was a manual LS1, it didn’t have the world’s best driver and yeah, I got lucky. :smiley: If it was a stockish or small bolt-on LT1, I’d say the outcome is about right.

yea… i guess its hard to say about the nostrils, b/c even tho they look ugly on an LT1 car (imo) alot of ppl buy them…

I didn’t get to hear the T/A much at all as I was in front the whole time, and my dumped Flows are pretty loud too.
