Best Personal Times at AJ's Grand Prix.

I think I can do a 24.7, I think Jeremy can too. But I think that may be the limit for us fatties.

okay I went tonight, And fuck, i hate that place. I can’t lower my time!
I ran a best of 24.6 tonight. I went out 3 times, I was the fastest one each heat but still everything I’d try wouldn’t work.

I’m going to bring a stopwatch and start clocking my times so I can tell what works better.
It doesn’t help that my first cart was extremely doggy (the brake would stick on and I’d have to wedge my foot behind it and pull the pedal back)
and the 2nd car was so damn loose.

Too bad there’s a roof, I could bring my GPS datalogger and then we could really find out what is the fast way around the track.

I was around 25.5 I think, don’t remember though. It’s too much fun to care about times as far as I’m concerned! Can’t wait to go back.

We can do better. I think there is a low 24 out there for us heifers.

When I was talking to the guy there about leagues, he asked how I think they should be divided up… I said weight (to me thats the only fair way to do it).

My thought would be a lightweight <170lbs a midweight <200lbs and a supermega heavy weight >=200 . Jeremy’s data seems to support roughly that too.

no signal indoors? I though gps was better than that recently.

The older max q datas are 100% accelerometer based. Anyone have one?

Yeah, that sounds cool.

24.480 tonight and I am somewhere around 235-240lbs.

My uncle pulled mid-high 23’s (cup-light driver), but i bet he is under 170lbs.

I think we should put together a best average time list… I believe mine is 25.5 - 17 laps

Frankly, it entirely depends on which kart you get. I was pretty consistent each session and could run mid-24’s all day in some carts, but only mid 25’s in others.

24.6 at 200lbs. i have only gone 1 time. i will improve a few more times out.

The kart you get does matter. They said they will be rebuilding the motors on just about all of them to get them all up to par. Right now though there are karts that are dogs, karts that are fast, karts that are loose, karts that are less lose (you aren’t going to find a tight go kart  ) .

We also found that the tires can get too hot, not sure if the tires are brand new or not though.

Im about 145 lbs… i bet you my times still suck … lol… we’ll see… ill get out sometime

How much does it cost per trip out?

Max is $20 for ~8 minutes. The more you buy at once the less it costs, there is also an additional discount for members (membership is $40, includes heat, t-shirt which doesn’t exist yet, and free run your birthday month or something like that). Basically over the span of a year it pays for itself with the free run and birthday run.

Anyone have a clue on how much the karts weight ive been look at other rule books for karting and everything is driver plus kart. Just so with the league we could follow some kind of already set rules.

Kind of like this http://ransomvillespeedway.com/TrackInfo/karts.htm oval track but id think same rules apply

Very well done.

I don’t think weight plays as big of part in times as everyone thinks… I think it makes a small difference if anything. The kart you get has a MUCH bigger impact.

We can add that into the database too

I think the kart makes a big difference, but weight makes as big a difference. As an example, when we were there last week, they had 5 of us go out and line up 2x2 on the start line and run as if it were a real race. I hit the anticipating the flag, it dropped, and everyone gapped me pretty well. I was at least 30lbs heavier then everyone, and the only time I can pass is by playing people well in the w section. If I come out side by side in the straight I get overtaken every time because my weight holds me back on corner exit. With only 6hp and and ungodly low amount of torque, every pound changes the power to weight ratio drastically.
