best website for purchasing computer goods?

I am looking to buy a few things, and would like to find an online vendor with good quality products at good prices.

  1. 2 External Hard Drives (500+ GB), Portable is a plus but is not necessary.

  2. Wireless Home Router (must be compatible with Windows 7, this is for my father and his old one took a shit).

Any suggestions would be great!

then, check techbargains.com, slickdeals.net and dealnews.com for cheap part prices as well.

External hard drives are always portable… ???

And all routers would be windows 7 compatible, wouldn’t they? It’s just routing/switching/networking. The router just sits there and handles the interwebs for the computer…

newegg.com is where I buy 80% of my stuff.

buy.com probably 10%.

Other 10% random deals from slickdeals.net.

Don’t forget to go through bing.com for the cashback.

Newegg

Newegg…I don’t even bother looking elsewhere

Haha yes they are, but I guess “portability” was the word I was looking for. It’s not necessary but its nice having something small and easy to pack.

Thanks everyone.

+1 for newegg

I have one of these hard drives and my GF has one also…Very portable and work really well. I’d recommend them. They are all the same just different colors.

and go with seagate for the portable hard drive,5 year warranty.

newegg
tigerdirect
and another that pops up on slickdeals

oh, also sometimes craigslist in a pinch

Newegg still stack S&H? I fucking hate that.

I usually end up going with tigerdirect now. Banned from newegg for a chargeback, fuckers.

exaclty.
once i bought a laptop from tigerdirect.com, that was from CompUSA when they closed up shop and send shit back to teh manufacturers, but had to mark everything as used…
so i got a refurbed laptop that was never really refurbed… for mad cheap.

Otherwise newegg for everything.
Unless newegg doesn’t sell it, like my megahalem cooler.

I use newegg. techbargains, buy.com, and sometimes amazon.

I also look for one day slaes with the tool wootalyzer

I just bought a Western Digital 1 TB External HD for 80 dollars with free shipping from newegg yesterday

newegg, buy.com and others have bing cashback.

WD? I hear nothing but negative reviews on WD HDs, I used to live by them.

The 7200.11s maybe, I know Seagate had trouble with them. Seagate however has a 5 year warranty on almost all their drives. I don’t think I’ve had a problem yet with Seagates. Then again I got WD externals from like 5-6 years ago that are still running 24/7.

Damn I should’ve posted up on here I just sold a 2TB Seagate for $100 new.

on top of those I still use pricewatch.com

I live by Western Digital too

All HDs have flaws
