I welded the rest of the door skin, welded up the trim holes along the top and middle of the door, and finished stripping the old paint with a DA.

You’re not shaving the handles?

I am but it will be later on, its easier to open the door this way when im working on it, once im done replacing the floors, rockers, and quarters, ill start doing the minor body work. I’m just trying to get the bulk of it done now.

worddd

or you can leave the glass, which is already out, and reach inside and grab the handle, latch, cable, lever, etc.

Lookin smooth homie! I wish my dayjob wasnt sitting here on Shift and could work 24/7 on projects. Maybe something would get done around here. lol

Luckily my dayjob is where my projects are. That makes it a lot easier.

Wow dude. Just wow. I wish more than anything i could learn to do this stuff. Just the satisfaction of doing and watching it come together.

If you really wished you could, you could. Need motivation my friend

Also need a garage and money. I tried to learn some stuff, and not having your own garage will take away all you motivation.

I need space and tools and a teacher.

Sums it up right there

Garage and money are definitely a pretty important part of the equation. Its not just motivation, this is a very expensive hobby and the elements arent very friendly 6 months out of the year around here.

went and bought a parts car today for $250, its a 54 bel air, which was the top trim line that year. its a 4 door that was rolled in 1970 and has been sitting in a barn ever since. The car is great shape minus a fucked roof and some rust on the rockers. The car is a 4 door so not all of it will get used. It does have just about everything that i need to make my car complete. I will be using the front grille, headlights, hood, trunk, and most importantly the floor braces are all perfect. Plus I can sell some misc parts off it before scrapping whats left. So It will save me a ton of money on buying little parts, hell I will end up making money on it.

Glass all looks intact, could make profit with that and scrap alone I bet lol

the winshield is broke, other wise yes. the car has shit loads of good parts, so over time I can make my money back and more.

damn, $250 is less than scrap value

yea, its prob got 7 or 800 worth of good parts.

Would love to hear the story on how it got rolled in 1970…in my mind I’m picturing a car load of stoners on a twisty backroad…

:rofl
