This thread reminds me of something I heard on the news this morning. Long story short, child from Jamaica comes over with family; mother leaves her child (she over stays her welcome) child is allowed to stay with grandparents. Child becomes teenager and graduates Highschool with honors. Wants to go to college like everyone else. Has no Social Security #/ isn’t a US citizen yet, so he is limited on what he can do. He will get a tuition “break” from New York State because of his immigration status, if this bill passes.
I got 10% off my tuition because I was a veteran, this kid will be getting a tuition “break” because he is an immigrant; probably more than 10%.
And some of us think this is fair?
