black top will not turn over.

jay … was the right hand fuse box if your looking at the car head on

left hand one if your sitting in it.

Power has to go to both places on the starter, and it comes from different plugs…

The 12mm bolt, holds down the main power which turns the motor, and the small lil speaker type plug actuates the spline forwards and nothces the gear with the flywheel…

Take out the starter, and hook it upto a charged battery, placing the power ( red ) side over both terminals, the small speaker clip, and the 12mm thread. Then place the black terminal from the jumper cable onto the starter anywhere, causing a ground.

This should extend the spline, and spin the shaft at the same time, if both dont happen, then the starter is fried.

hope that helps…

alt fuse wouldnt keep your car from not starting, it will only not charge the battery, and doesnt give any power to any of the accessories.[/quote]

I am guessing you never had one blow. It is also called the Main fuse.

the “small speaker” style plug… i dont have that!!! where is it located on the engine harness…

maybe thats wuts wrong … i was always thinking about that but i never saw it on the harness so i figured i was just tripping out.
