i saw a z06 for sale up at the merc dealer when i was taking my car to the dealer for a recall. i think 50K, 4000 miles, full warranty, 2008…so tempting for relatively cheap. kinda want to go drive it…its no ZR1 though

So yes I would say in comparison it is a pig and obviously will never be on par with a ZR1 for a 1/4 mile beast. Compare the ring times, it is not the same car.
But if you want a comfortable, 4 door sedan that pulls like a train I think it is a great car.
Z06 = 7k RPM 7L with lightweight internals. I’m sure it would make 600-700whp relatively safely with some boost, but it isn’t going to be a rock solid engine for boosting. At least that’s my guess.

That’s pretty damn sick. Not even running headers. With some 16 or even 17" wheels and some sidewall he’d be in the 9s all day.
