boosted camaro = teh slow

I havent changed anything in my tune besides adjusting my AFR to see if this is rich/lean related.

this would be MUCH easier if I had a damn wideband :headbang Its hard going by my damn 02’s :headbang :headbang

you changed heat ranges on the plugs… and changed the gap… that right there can/will affect the way the car runs/idles… i would begin checking your ignition system as far as it “breaking up” at this point. you may have more than one issue causing these conditions and the fuel filter change was just a “band aid”

wait… you are trying to tune via narrowband a/f readings?! your sig says lc-1… wheres the wideband from that!? dont go fucking with air fuel to try and make a narrowband happy or you will melt shit in a hurry… get an egt gauge and a wideband hooked up PRONTO!

LOL…i sold the LC-1 a while ago

My car was doing this, before my plug change

like I said…I already went after my ignition…i replaced all 3 ignition coils, and my plug wires…only thing left to check out/replace is my ICM (ignition control module)

I have had my car tuned off my 02’s for over a year now…its not only me thats tuning my car…I have a buddy that lives in florida that I send all my tune log’s too and he checks them and edits them, sends them back…I update my PCM, log it and send it back…on the rich side, my cars 02’s read between 950-1000…anything under 950 is lean…I did have my car dialed in pretty damn good, before this whole break up/skipping issue…now its thrown me for a whirl…I was on the same tune for half a year with this T72 without a single problem…my AFR’s were low 11’s.

you know, with meth you are supposed to lean it out to about 12.0-12.2:1 right? the water/meth not only increases octane but acts as a cooling agent so you dont have to run the extra fuel as a “temp reducer” in the cylinder…if you still cant seem to fatten it up, like i said look for a walbro pump… they are butter on most vehicles as theres USUALLY an access panel under the rear seat or trunk.

right, when my Meth is hooked up…I SHOULD be able to hit 12.0 AFR and add atleast 7* more timing which will give me a nice add on of power…they say its like running a 130 octane gas.

yah…i WISH my car had a access panel to my gas tank…but sadly, my whole gas tank hasto be dropped out of the car…not sure how much of a pain in the ass this is tho.

i dont know if its 130 oct, but a respectable gain none the less. just let me know if u need a hand with anything. im always glad to help where i can.

yah well i have the snow performance stage 2 boost cooler meth kit…I had it all hooked up but I was having trouble getting the pump to engage right…so I unhooked it for now…that will be another Pain in the ass.

if you guys wanna come over thursday i would be fine with that…i will mess around with my car tomarrow, see if i can narrow the problem anymore.

in the mean time u might want to edit ur signature with the whole LC-1 thing and such…its time for an update :nod

dood… get a wideband! Don’t see how you can tune for fuel without it.

it’s gonna asplode! :rofl

you dont have to drop the whole tank, a lot of people cut a whole in the back hump and make atrap door out of it to put in a new fuel tank.

This thread is nutty as hell.

Plenty of people tune via NB02. The problem is that it’s just not accurate. Period. .96.-98 = a huge range on the WB02 and can vary from car to car. Your method for tuning the car is funky as hell. I am not sure where to even start. I’d be suspect of ignition issues if it’s breaking up. I’ve had my car at various AFRs from 10-12 without any issues of breaking up unless I had blowout or bad plugs. Considering you are tuning in the dark, I wouldn’t be surprised if your plugs are fucked. Also, I cannot speak on your kit, I use the Snow Performance Stage III and it’s got a completely different algorithm for spraying. I would get this car completely tuned for pump gas and then re-tuned for the methanol. Save both maps if possible to have easy method of switching back and forth.

My point before was that if the car ws running completely fine and then like shit the next day, I wouldn’t think the tune magically disappeared and that other issues exist.

…ya.

Im not doing that.

why not?

so much easier and ya will never see it its behind the carpeting and the rear seats only u know its there trust me cut a hidden whole or drop rearend? hmmmmmmmmmmmmm

its an easy fix to dropping your rearend and your gas tank, and its def insurance on your engine to have a fuel pump.

http://www.rspeed.org/forums/images/smilies/mswerd.gif i say do the hidden hole.

that’s what she said

yeah, just cut an access panel in the floor. if you do a “nice job” cutting it, you can make it look just fine. if you have a bunch of stuff over it, you’ll never see it anyway. i still don’t know why you don’t have a wideband. i wouldn’t even install a turbo kit without one.
