hey guys I have a blitz bov and there is a hex pin screwed in at the top with a nut holding it down, i tried to unscrew then nut (i guess it seized to the hex) and it broke it off, the rest of it is still in there, I can unscrew it still easily but what I am wondering is if i take it out, will a spring pop out ? i would like to replace it and adjust it right, what should I be aiming at in terms of functionality when I am adjusting it, and what is the best way…
The top screw is to preload the spring. The spring isn’t giong to pop out
until you remove all the little screws around the equator of the unit.
so is it safe to just unscrew the top one and put another one in ?
I take it that nut/bolt broke off?
Why don’t you remove all the bolts so you can separate the top and
bottom halves of the BOV, so you can see what the underside of the top piece looks like (where the bolt goes).

awwwh… I have that BOV and their are NO bolts holding it together “in order to seperate it or get the spring out” there is a retainning clip on the bottom which holds the piston in… remove that clip and the piston/spring fall out (there is also a small round plate which sits ontop of the spring) which the hex head threaded rod pushes on in order to put tension on the spring…
If your Blitz BOV looks like this one below… then indeed their are a few bolts (4) holding it together and once you remove them it will then split in half (just like the one Above, there is a Piston, Spring, Plate)
sorry guys but i dont have time to take stuff apart rite now, all i want to know is if its safe to just unbolt the broken hex and bolt something else in without doing anything, lmk please, thankss~
