Brake Calipers: Can aftermarket fit stock rotors?

Do any aftermarket brake manufacturers product brake calipers that fit OEM rotors? Or is this just a pipedream?

If not, then just say “no”.

If so, then:
who produces them
who sells them/distributes them
anything else i would need to know?

thanks guys,
Leo.

i dont know what ur plans are but if u want more braking power get 180sx calipers with sentra rotors they are 11 inches

Just to clairfy on this a 180sx Caliper is the exact same as a CDN/USDM Maxima “1990” and the Rotor is the same as a Altima “1994”

The Rotor from the Altima is also the 280mm “same as a Z32” and the Caliper itself “from the Maxima” is quite a bit bigger then a stock 240 Caliper and is a very decent upgrade!

You could also use Calipers from a Q45/Xterra but would need to have the Rotors Re-Drilled to fit onto a 240… (Or even the big one would be to get Z32 Brakes as most people do)

But in regards to an “Aftermarket” company whom would make a better/bigger Caliper which could be used with a “stock” rotor, I highly doubt it…

Rotora has “Big Brake Kits” but they do not use the stock rotor and I highly doubr you’ll come across any company such as them who would make a bigger/better caliper but still use the stock rotor

therein lies the problem. as soon as you make the rear a vented rotor with the proper MBC, the improvments are extreme.

I ran the Z32 rears for about a year+, with stock fronts (and no-ebrake), and the improvments in straight line stoping, were very noticable. But I always ran quality tires, as well this rear set up caused a really interesting balance when braking/steering, and reall y wasn’t for the faint of heart.

I was particularly tired of replacing rear caliper/rotor/pads every 6 months so, upgrade it was…

Do the Calipers bolt up to the stock mounting brackets (Maxima calipers or the Q45’s)

do the stock 240sx dust plates clear altima 94 rotors for the 180sx calipers ? if not is it ok to swap entire wheelhub from a 180sx ? im just avoiding takeing the hub off i dont want another alignment

Take off your brakes, remove the central 30mm axle nut, and pry off the dust shield with a screw driver.

OR BEND It back, or cut it off, eather way, bang for the buck

I hit mine with an air-chisel for 2-3 seconds and the whole thing fell off.

But yes I have cut JUST THE LIP off it before and this works well, the dust sheild gets to do most of its job

YES, along with the 300zx, which I personnally would reccomend, but I would imagine that the Q45 brakes are comprable, as that car must be close to 4000lbs. Although these options require the rotors to be re-drilled to 8-hole (1 common hole to 5/4 pattern)

As Darian said…

I myself used a set of 180sx Brakes which Darian lent me “until I found a set of Z32s” and I had to cut off the Lip of my dust sheild in order for the Rotor to fit…

But it only took about 2 mins a side with a Zip Cut Wheel

I used my teeth, I found it to be by far the most effective way to get mine on

thanks guys so it doesnt fit, might as well swap in the 180sx control arms with hubs with mint bushings, balljoints, no rust, and bigger dust shield!problem solved.

WHAT??? get the 180 is brakes and just get ride of the dust sheild, everythign els is a Bolt on. Retarted easy, I did mine in about ooooo 15 min
