Brake fade..........Pads??

I just put skyline GTR calipers and rotors onto my Silvia and they work great. Initial bite is CRAZY! However If I am doing well above 100km/h and hit the brakes and slow to a stop There is alot of fade. I bedded them in correctly I believe, but i don’t know what kind they are. They came with the brakes when i bought them, and have alot of meat on them still.
So my question, is this normal, or does it sound like a pad problem?
If it’s a pad problem, I like the sounds of the hawk HPS pads, what size do I need? The 300ZX aren’t the right size are they?

Thanks guys

Get some new pads cause those brakes are definently not fading from the heat.

Yeah, I know they can’t be fading from heat soak!!
That’s why I was wondering about the kind and sizing of pads, I want this thing to kick some serious decelerating ass! It allready hurts my head…maybe I can pop an eye out or something!

I’d say pad problem, I went through two sets of oem pads with my z32 setup. I never had any problems slowing down.

R32 GTR OEM brakes are interchangable with early 90s Z32s.

I just installed a set of EBC Redstuff pads on the advice of a guy who does does a fair bit of track time. (Ezzie from GRTCanada.com)

I haven’t even finished breaking them in and I can tell you they’re going to be killer! I exceeded 1g braking on the April 30th track day on my old pads, but with a fair bit, OK a LOT, of pedal effort. The new ones feel strong strong strong! Should be able to get the job done with a fair bit less effort now.

If you want to see eyeball goo on the windshield you’ll need to make sure your tires are up to the task as well!

Cheers,
Dan
