So I’m removing the auto brake pedal from my project car and I can’t seem to get it out. I have the steering column dropped and everything is unbolted and loose, but I just can’t get the whole pedal out. Is there a special way to remove these!?
Just wiggle and wiggle, it’ll come out.
A good trick is to pull the brake booster further forward so you’re not hitting the fork as you are trying to get it out.
ok, I have the brake booster as far away from the firewall but the fork is still in the way, I remember trying to push that fork into the engine bay but it didn’t budge.
If you really really can’t get it out, disconnect the huge vaccuum line connecting to the booster, that might give you some more room to play. If not, then I would disconnect all the brake lines from the master and just remove it completely.
The steering column might also get in your way. You’ll need to play with it at different heights to wiggle it out.
Success! Thanks for the advise guys. There was defenitly a certin way it had to come out once you got it past the fork. Did it in about 30min once I had a second hand to help me out.
