Brake question..

You usually remove the cap so you aren’t compressing the piston against a closed system. I did the brakes on my GF’s old 97 grand Cherokee a year or two ago and everything was very straightforward.

on the maybe 10 different cars Ive done brake changes on… Theres always one stupiding fucking bolt, or a dust shield that all of the sudden rubs, or a piston that won’t go back or a stuck glide pin…

Every bolt cracked off easy, nothing gave me any sort of trouble

The only thing that gave me a little trouble on hers was the rear rotor was stuck like a bastard. 8lb sledge fixed that pretty quickly though.

i thought when you press the caliper piston backing into the caliper you needed to remove the brake fluid resivor?

also 2002 sounds like old brake fluid too. change that bitch

Yeah, remove the brake fluid reservoir. Also replace the master cylinder and windshield while you’re at it.
