Brand New Engine

Well, Nissan approved the warranty and I am getting a brand-spankin new engine! I have been having tons of problems with burning oil, and it turns out it was the precat converter?! I should get it back in about a week. YAY! :clap

Congrats!!! I have had my new engine for almost two months, prior I had the same problem, massive oil consumption due to precat failure.

Try and get a header on as soon as you can, put on with the new engine if at all possible! That way you will have no worries (other than butterfly screws)

New engine? Niice :partyman:

New engine is always a good thing! Make sure Mr. Rage puts a header on that puppy as soon as he can! :E

Join the club, I have a farely new one as well.

Guess who’s thinking turbo for his new engine??? :partyman:

Wooot,

Another Spec engine getting warrantied. Shows how good cars they are.

But congrats and hopefully this one lasts longer

Actually the ones that are lightly modified to get rid of the precat on the header and not beaten to shit tend to last quite a while. I recall someone turning over 100K miles on the Vboard awhile back on his original engine…

woho i still have my precat and stil running strong, not burning oil or anything!
told u milwoods suzuki sucks!

im going to get a header next summer and try and buy a skyline too.

WOW 100K. Must be great to have that kind of reliabilty

haha yeah no shit on a almost brand new car!

New cars suck these days!

First of all I knew about this before I went to Millwoods Suzuki… If you say one more thing about Millwoods Suzuki I’ll ^&%^&. It had nothing to do with them. I was hoping the signs of this would show up before Feb, which they did. So I would call this a well laid plan. As for the header she already has a brand spanking new one. As for the butterflies she is getting all new 06 redesigned screws. Now the cool thing is that Nissan Canada serviced this car before Millwoods Suzuki put it on sale. They replace most of the suspension and brakes. So you could say her car was a steal of a deal…

not bad then. i would have figured they would say everything is MINT or something as they told me when i got some cars from there inspected and turned out they were going to rot to the ground. Good deal then!

Yeah. The Vboard is an american site. 100K miles there is 160K km here. Not too shabby.

Unfortunately we don’t have really reliable high-mileage data yet because the cars just haven’t covered that much distance for us to know.

I wouldn’t point the finger too much at the Spec 5 though, I see plenty of 250K 240’s with rebuilt motors and everyone touts the KA as being practically indestructible. As for the SR20…who knows. I doubt there are many high-mileage examples in Japan.

Either way, well bought Ryan!

My engine is driven pretty hard and has 250k on it, no rebuild or anything yet. . .hoping to get 300k on it this summer

Congrats on the new engine, glad to see Nissan is looking out for their customers . . .

haha… my 1993 KA only has 111xxx km… what am I doing wrong? hehe

Hmmm my old KA had 220,000kms on it and it did not burn one drop of oil or anything. There are LOTS down in the states that have 200,000 miles PLUS (320,000kms). And to make it better they drift the shit out of them. Yes there are quite a few people that have fun drifting an NA KA down there. And i know of very few people that had to rebuild a KA.

So I was just told that i should have posted this in the FWD section. SORRY RYAN!!! anyways, I am very happy with the car, especially now! The header will be going on very soon after the new engine is in. I guess all that’s left after this is new paint and she will be like new.
