anyone know a place or ideas of how i can take a broken key out of the ignition cylinder?,thanks
try to see if you can remove the key with needle nose plyers ive succefully done this multiple times
tried it…didn’t work, its actually in there really deep. say half way down the cylinder
Tweezers?
How much of the key broke off in it?
I know how to rebuild lock cylinders - however I’m not close, and I don’t work for free lol.
Your best bet is to pull the cylinder (be gentle, if you get rammy you’ll break something) and open the cap on the cylinder and start pulling the tumblers. MAKE SURE you put them back in the slots you pulled them from.
oh man sounds really risky…are there any places i can go…i tried tweezers too deep about exactly half the key
if you take it out yourself a dealership can get it out, or match up a cylinder with one that would work for you and code it for you.
for my door I use WD40 and a paperclip with the two ends unfolded. Have two ends slide it in, clip it together to hold the key using the rounded end, and try wiggling it out. That was my door method, hope it helps.
super glue at the end of the broken peice, stick it in for a min and pull everything out.
I can attest to this method…don’t leave it in for too long, or you’ll have it in there forever.
i tried that as well and it wont come out…
you have the steering column cover off
follow the ignition wires to the back of the tumbler
2 phillips screws hold the ignition thingy onto the back of the ingintion lock
take this off and push it through with another key or tiny electronics screwdriver.
Make’r a push button.
