building the end-all donkasaurus- need ideas

I’ve had just about enough of all these idiots with the retarded big ass rim thing and bragging about how big their rims are like its a big dick thing. A couple friends & I have kinda had this idea in the back of our heads for years but now I really want to do it, basically build a monster truck/car with monster shiney chrome/gold/whatever rims instead of big mud tires. I’m talking BIG rims. At least twice whats out there now. Retarded big. Like 60"s. Obviously I don’t want to drop alot of $$ into this as its mostly just a joke. I dont care if the thing vibrates, bounces all over, etc. I’m basically going to find the cheapest pos I can, rattle can it up, fab a huge lift on it and bolt the wheels on

So the question is, whats a monsterly large circular metal thing
that I could find 4 of and weld/fab into something that at least kinda resembles a wheel? As far as tires go we were thinking taking semi tires and cutting the sidewall out thus leaving you with a lo-pro tire but I still dont think thats going to be big enuff… maybe caterpillar wheels/tires or old farm tractor parts?

we need names and a theme too
like trump towaz or some shit, have $'s in the paint and as the spokes in the rims

ideas?

Lol a good idea for a starting point would be the Caprice Classic’s at cruise night last year, the really old ones with like 28’s on it. Lifted.

yeah havent decided on the car yet, its gonna end up being whatever I can drag out of a field/junkyard/tifft

I mostly need ideas on materials that could be used for the wheels, ideally something thats already a wheel so i dont have to worry about truing the outer rim and then piecing it together, etc

those old stem tractor wheels are pretty big but i have no idea where to get any lol pic

pete i want in on this ahaha

Its gonna cost some money anyway u put it.

Those are like 20’ 's.

I dont think he was looking to cross the mississippi, just some show

Does he want an end to all ends or not??? You gotta think biggggg.:bush:

yeah diggin that bigfoot- something along those lines is right what I’m lookin to do only with low pro tires

of course there will be some $$ involved, like I said the car is no prob just whatever shitwagon I come across. Then if I can find some rusty old tractor wheels some farmer is just looking to give away I’ll just fab up some lug pattern adapter plates and torch out a spoke design

I like the ones vdub posted- add some more spokes, shine them up & got urself some like 60" daytons lol

these actually arent too bad as is- just shine them up vv

in for pics of this failing.

this sounds dangerous… i like it

just give up… you havnt thought this thru at all…

your going to cut the sidewall off a tire? what about the bead???

you dont want to spend a bunch of $$ and you think you are going to engineer a HUGE lift on a car for cheap??? :roflpicard:

really stupid idea

in for fail

actually I have thought it thru enough to make it kinda fly- tires won’t need a bead. Know anything about implement tires? They’re not air filled, they’re foam filled. A 2pc outer rim bolts together in the middle and sandwiches the whole thing together

and anyways who said anything about engineering anything? You obviously missed what I said about doing this cheap, and you obviously dont know anything about doing your own fab work since you would know that it costs pennies on the dollar compared to having shops do shit for you

think monster garage- rip & tear baby.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F_VImPZTI7I not seen this yet?

put it in the FRONT of your head for a couple more years. You obviously haven’t thought this through.

ugh

this board is getting more & more like ubrf every day

pretty soon this section of the forums will be shut down too

the kids of USA1 have this on lock already. that cutlass posted above on 40s

I want to see that thing at an auto-x

the idea is definently doable…but not with no budget and no forethought.

let’s say you get 60" rims…what are you going to do about rubber? How are you going to do it for $5?

Do you think stock axles will handle ANY torque from a 50" wheel? what’s your gameplan for that? More importantly…how will you do it for almost no $?

The UBRF days are people with awesome ideas that are never followed through with. Just like the bench top racers we had.
