Is it possible to remove the manifold to turbo bolts on a 180sx without removing the manifold?
Is there a trick to it because I cant even get my hand in there to remove the locking tabs or should I just remove the mnifold with the turbo bolted to it?
yes, you need stubby wrenches. Use a flat blade or side cutters to get the tabs out of teh way. small hands can help. Get slim nuts so that you can double nut it when you put it back together. The hard parts are undoing the water lines from the turbo. The CA is a little harder than the SR. Last time I removed the whole mainold because I had to change all the gaskets on a CA, I swore I’d pull the engine first. it’s easier and less time consuming.
i tried taking just the turbo off and i found that taking off the manifold is muhc faster and easier!
i was in this situation and I had to use a stubby wrench to get at 3 of the 4 and the other one i just used a vice. But ya, taking the monifold off is the easiest and I am going to have to re do mine next winter.

its that one last bolt that just sucks …
